Out: half roll of sausagemeat for homemade pizza tonight
In: bread ends from homemade loafIt's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.2 -
IN: three flans made yesterday. I don't know how to judge these as the ingredients came originally from the freezer. I think I only had to add eggs.
OUT pieces of turkey, turkey stock, some herbs, peas, onions, bits of ham, 3 x bread rolls. I'm making pea and ham soup for lunch and in the slow cooker turkey casserole for tea. Again not sure how to judge it as I've made enough casserole for 3 meals so two will get frozen later tonight.
Maybe I try to work on the premise of not shopping and not worrying about what goes back in the freezer providing I make everything from stock. I've done my monthly April shop as I managed to get an online delivery last Sunday so I think the challenge will be NO Shopping, Live on what I have and see if there is any room in the freezers at the end of April4 -
IN:- 2 x turkey casserole, 3 portions x mash potatoes. I need to work my way through the remainder of the potatoes I grew last year before they go soft and before this years crop is ready.
OUT:- block puff pastry, some cooked turkey pieces, 3 x bread rolls
Lunch will be leftover pea and ham soup plus bread rolls
Tea: I'm going to do turkey in puff pastry, I've bits and bobs in the fridge that need using up so I'll use them in the pastry as well.
One thing this virus has done for me is to give me a more structured day as there are 'jobs' to do and there's only DH and myself here at the moment, It also has made me waste absolutely nothing. I thought I was good at not wasting before as I threw very very little away but now i know where it went - in the freezer!!!3 -

Going to make venison wellie boot as there's a bit of pate in the fridge and some puff pastry left over from yesterday2 -
My ongoing attempt to clear at least some room in the freezer(s) is finally bearing fruit, there's actually clear space in the outside freezer - just in time for the 1kg frozen raw prawns I have ordered!
In: nothing
Out: Large bag of crabapples (now crabapple puree, 'soon' to be crabapple cheese when I recover from sieving 6 lbs crabapples!), 2 lb's venison (1 for tonight, 1 to be slowcooked tomorrow as a quick meal later in the week), 1 kipper I had forgotten about (that was breakfast), tub of HM carrot soup for lunches and a tub of apple puree for crumble purposes.
I still have a load of meat left in the outside freezer, not to mention veggie burgers, meatballs and fish fingers in the inside one - think I'm going to be ok for meat for quite a while! And just noticed the outside freezer needs de-icing which means more incentive to clear it!2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used
