It looks like your link is showing a more rounded bean, and therefore it is not a runner bean which are flatter.

These are runner beans and I like these better than any other type of green bean.

I started using up a big packet of gram flour that's been sitting at the back of the cupboard for a couple of years yesterday. I grated 2 parsnips and an onion, added some garam masala, cayenne pepper, a few big spoonfuls of gram flour and some water and shallow fried flattened spoonfuls of the mixture as bhaji/fritter things. They were delicious! Especially served with some mushrooms fried with garlic. There's a lot of frying going on there isn't there? Probably why it tasted so darned good!

Got confused - thought it was Easter this weekend- having minor panic !!!

    OUT
Yesterday - several packs of venison mince, cooked on the Esse fireheart, refrozen today in portion sizes. I try to batch cook on the Esse when it is lit as it costs nothing in fuel.
Today - sausages, bread, milk, 2 portions of cooked apples.

    IN
    just the cooked mince.

I'm getting better organised with the freezers. I've moved things around, I now have all the 'pudding/sweet' things in one, like fruit, both raw and cooked, HM cakes, same with biscuits, pastry, crumbles. I've also put the bread and milk in it
Another one has all the vegetables plus any meat that has been cooked and refrozen in portions or as complete meals like pies.
Uncooked meat and fish is in the third one
The smaller freezer under the fridge in the kitchen as all the 'part used' packs in it like an open pk of peas, or loaf. I try and use what is in that freezer first to keep things on the move. If I don't I reach the stage where I can't shut the drawers. Feel so much better for doing it even though I couldn't feel my fingers at the end of the session.

Made a vegetable soup with fridge drawer veg, best soup I've made so far and it certainly wasn't due to the quality of the veg as they were going off!

Minimal shopping this week, but have due to birthdays and events been eating out a lot this week instead.

I call this 'bendy soup'!! Love it!

Since I posted a couple of weeks ago, nothing has gone in but only two things have gone out - a lump of bacon for boiled ham and a pack of filled pasta.

The fridge is slowly emptying, not really helped by winning the veg raffle at Sw last Thursday!!

Hi there. Back from our trip south. Quick trip around Lidl - only got things on the list.

    In - Freezer NOWT:D

Out - 3 Basa fillets and final portion of Arrabiatta sauce for dinner. 1 x McMuffin Bake for DH breakfast. 2 x Chicken breast for dinner tomorrow.

This time I've meal planned 2 weeks. I'll need top up F&V and milk, but I'll be interested to see how it goes.

Anyone any ideas on what to do with loads of frozen runner beans. I sort of grew too many last year and froze the surplus. I'm getting fed up with them and they are not as nice once frozen as when they are fresh. My DH suggested feeding them to the hens (their other name is 'Small Dustbin') I must grow far less this year.

the last frozen runners I had were pretty tasteless so the few I had left i've bunged in a homemade blended tomato pasta sauce, you cant tell they're there and it's got rid of them without me resorting to binning them.
