Hi all,
I'm a regular on the GC page, but not posted here before. Can I please join you? I'm sure I could manage until 2018 without shopping as I have so much stuff! Pantry is overflowing, bookshelves full, plus four massive plastic storage boxes full. Then the fridge freezer is groaning, as is the 5-ft freezer in the outhouse...!
I'm a single mum and used to panic about being able to feed my children. Now it's just a terrible problem that I need to get a handle on. I have some money in a tin in my pantry, so I know I have emergency money for if the shtf, so why do I still buy all this c**p?!!
I like the idea of listing what's come in and gone out each day. As long as the out is more each week than the in, right?
PGxGrocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

OUT
2 x venison steaks peas, sweetcorn
profiteroles, still from Christmas
blueberries
sausages and puff pastry to make sausage rolls for tomorrows lunch
rest from fridge
In nothing
I've just put through a smallish order, mainly vegetables and toiletries so I don't think I'll be adding much to stores or freezer.0 -
Using 2 red peppers with a made-up beef ragout with a 125g portion of minced beef and using bits of broccoli and bendy carrot and the last but-one onion from last year's garden crop with some grated cheese on top - they are in the oven bubbling. Did not open anything and used up an opened tin of tomato puree and a splodge (ha! take that auto-correct!) of red wine, as well as the usual chili, herbs, Worcester sauce and dash of tabasco.
Only two more portions of veg soup to use up but have persuaded DH to help - I have had it every work-day lunch for almost a fortnight now

Nothing much going on or out today but I'll be removing a pack of mince and ham bought on Monday from the freezer. This week should see me use the last of the turkey, leftover shepherds pie and fish I picked up on Monday. I might even run out of risotto rice soon!
Hoping to avoid shopping until next Wednesday. It is doable so long as sir munchalot powers down!0 -
In - three fish portions (Dd needed three for cooking at school, but came in a six pack)
Out - one packet mix, pack of sausages, new pack of pasta opened, tin of beans, orange, last of a pack of strawbs, one of the lunches I bulk-made for this week - only two to go now!
That's definitely more out than in today!
