Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

Found a recipe for a boar ragout that I'm going use with the defrosting boar: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/wild-boar-ragu-238625. I'll just halve it as that's how much meat I have. A bit of a spending win for me: the recipe calls for red wine and I didn't have any fresh so was going to get a half bottle today. Then I remembered there's some old red wine on my countertop and so tested it out. It smells vinegary but still tastes alright. Money saved!0

So sorry zafiro am having my hip done on Monday but pain is pretty bad now. Have been using freezer stuff but also putting single portions of meat style dishes in for when I get home. Hang on in there.0

That's another 1/6th of a freezer drawer emptied, and a shelf clear in the fridge.0 -

Heh all...
Back from a really lovely week in Cyprus and OH managed to stick to the meal plan about 95%! Really pleased that he managed so well - he's very capable but also very spend-happy!! So I finished Feb a whole £9.95 under budget BUT I have trimmed that by £40 for the month of March so the challenge continues.
However - not going to make much progress on the freezers situation for the next short while - meal plan written but I'm now on day 17 that I haven't had a single thing to eat. Even while in Cyprus and my most favourite food in the whole wide world. Looking like I'm heading for another hospital admission as the pain is now worse than ever but despite a lack of food intake I've got energy and don't feel too 'unwell'. But my pancreas is not for giving me a break while I'm still taking clear fluids. Bum.
I restocked fruit and veg and basics today spending £33.93 at L!dl and greengrocer. Fridge full for a while - hoping all week based on 1 adult and 2 large kid portions. The kids are looking after a neighbour's chickens this weekend so they've had the eggs for omelettes this lunch time and there's more for tomorrow.
I brought quite a few bits of Cypriot meats home for the freezer so must pack them up and try to squeeze them in somewhere tomorrow. I may have missed out while there but the proper supermarket provided me some to bring home with me. Soon I hope!
In: fresh fruit, salad, veg, bread, milk, cereal, yogurts, packed lunch items for DD school dinner. To squeeze into freezer: 33 sheftalia, 12 large and 10 small loukanika, 6 mahoosive proper pitta breads - obviously portioned up into freezer bags.
Out: bit of cheese, sukuk (F), tatties for actifry chips and salad.
Lovely to be back - seeing how well folks are doing and all these spaces appearing in freezers!0 -

Very tired today did a round trip of 450 miles yesterday. I drove the car as my back would have played up had I been in the lorry. DH drove the lorry, went to see something, it was nice but not quite what we wanted. Bit of a wasted day - never mind.
OUT
ice cream
lamb mince
bacon, made rosti as per Mary Berry's new series on everyday cooking, really good and tasty.
