Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

Out of the freezer, 2 packs of birds eye faggots, ( picked up at Tosco when on offer for 87p) still have another three packs in there. Had to take out two packs as hubby home today from work for a week and he has a big appetite. So 2 packs will do two adults, two kids. Going to do a nice fresh loaf in bread machine and have it with mushy peas. Yum!'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0

Finally used the squash - it came back from the allotment in probably September time! Did the stuffed squash recipe so the roast squash was mixed with brown rice, onion, HG sage/thyme/garlic/rosemary and stilton, then cooked in the skin. Would probably have been better without the stilton but was still nice. Had it with HM bread, bit filling..
At least I don't have to keep moving it around the kitchen now
Need to use up the rest of the veg in the freezer next - probably do burritos this week.0 -
Hi all, hope you're having a good bank holiday break?
I've been silly busy so my meals have been whatever I could find that was quick and easy which was salad or crackers and boiled egg. Bought all the ingredients for a moroccan lamb curry/tagine type thing yesterday but haven't got round to making it yet as still trying to get my new laptop up and running (old one coughed, spluttered and died this morning  so had to go into town to get a new one as it's almost impossible to live without a computer these days)
So, I might cook the tagine tomorrow but I'll see. Might have to be bread and water once the tagine is gone as the laptop was expensive and an unplanned purchase. Sigh.0 -

We went to a friends last night for a meal and stayed over so tonight we just had pasta for tea - taken some lamb shanks out of the freezer that I'll put in the slow cooker tomorrow morning and we'll have with veg etc. Need to remember I've got some fruit in the freezer as I've promised my 5yo that he can have a milkshake tomorrow as it's half term and it's just the two of us here in the morningJonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

Been AWOL - computer away for repair.
My freezer is heaving - took out a bag of meat bits - made 2 large pies - 16 portions! Plus I made a BPITH and a cherry all in one pudding. I just love to cook.
DGC came round - they ate some of the smoked salmon quiche so Mr F and I had one portion between us.

Hi all,
Thanks for good wishes Ms NR. Silly really but I was a bit shy about putting personal details on here so went back and deleted the bit about my Mum. Really miss her though, especially today.
Haven't started my lamb tagine yet but will do in a wee while as it is exactly what I fancy. Had a sandwich lunch while I was out today and I've a craving for a decent cooked meal with a pile of vegetables.
Mrs F I love your idea of black pudding in the hole, I'd never thought of doing it with anything other than 'toad'. I'm not a huge fan of black pudding though so does it work with anything else?0 -
Chunks of cooked ham/gammon or bits of fried off bacon.
I expect crispy bits of roast potato might work - got me thinking now!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Ooh, that roasted potato with gammon or chicken does sound good! A sort of 'roast dinner in the hole'. Yum.0
