What a wet day out there it is, however I've been and read the gas and elec meters to keep my spreadsheets up to date. Nice to see only 3 units of gas used this past week and electric with the new supplier working out cheaper too.

Water authority free box of goodies has arrived - water mats for pots and crystals, which means watering them is reduced from daily to every 7-10 days, how good is that.

I'm going to give these to my Mum for her baskets/pots as she hasn't got hers potted up yet, nor has a rain water butt (I do) and is less able to water daily anyway with her health being very poor at the moment. :( Going over there after lunch.

Not much else to report. Have done some IP tasks and moved that on up to £7.10. Several things taken out of the freezer for dinner tonight, lunch tomorrow and ongoing items like bread and bagels.

Have a pile of admin stuff to do including a letter from Sky about the On Demand box plug potentially having a safety issue so we have to switch off the electric before unplugging it to check .

Stay dry and warm - heating isn't on here, I've put 2 jumpers on instead :rotfl: Middle of May - madness!

What a difference a day makes - a lovely sunny one here and the cars have had attention and are both clean and shiny. The runaround had it's free wash and vac from the dealer and I've given the sports car a quick run and dust over. That may well be the last time I drive it before the buyer pays and picks it up next week.

Not alot else done to be honest! Got some free home made fudge from Mum yesterday and opened that today. The few bits for ironing were done whilst dinner was cooking tonight. Pretty much up to date I think now.

Got to take DS over to DB's in the morning - he's going to the cinema in their area with his cousins and for a take-away afterwards, so that will keep him occupied tomorrow and he has a schoolfriend coming over for the day on Tuesday - they might go swimming.

DB also has a 6p off a litre of fuel voucher for me :T so will pick that up tomorrow.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked. I've paid myself half my salary to up the interest I'll get on the account.
    - freepostcodelottery (both) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - another 4 and finishing the week on 69 points
    - Nectar Canvass - not checked
    - Nectar card value - still at £63.29
    - Inbox Pounds - moving up nicely and now at £7.79
    - Qmee - 45p moved to Paypal and another 11p earnt today on top

I've done some adding up of monies earnt/made since I started the diary - from selling, cashback and earning £336.11 and another £234 from saving coins and the change bucket. Total £570.11 :T

Tomorrow, I'm hoping to sort the guest bedroom out once I get back from DBs and start prepping it for decorating - I will need to get some more paint but will mix it with the leftover from the kitchen as that will be magnolia as well :D

Other than that, roll on the car sale transaction this week. Can't wait to get started on Chapter 2 :D

So the news tonight is that the car buyer has pulled out due to "an unexpected large expense" today. Back to square one again and plodding onwards with clearing the debt as I was then. What a waste of time and energy that has taken up. Really annoyed.

I've cleared the spare bedroom today and got that ready for rubbing down for painting. Just need to get 2.5l of wall emulsion and a small gloss, so can get on with the ceiling and undercoat whilst DS has a friend here tomorrow.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked - need to move the other half of my salary this week into my personal account
    - freepostcodelottery (both) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - new week and 25 points clocked up
    - Nectar canvass - not looked
    - Nectar card value - £63.29 still
    - Inbox Pounds - up to £8.44
    - Qmee - nothing from that today

Feeling a bit flat tonight, but that's down to the car news. Still, I'll now go back to June's budget and keep plodding. :)

Hope everyone has had a good day. :)

Thanks ladies - twonk indeed :rotfl:

Never had a buyer do that to me before, but then he was an a**e on price originally, so I'd not got a deposit due to him upping to what I wanted by text a few days after viewing. I do wonder if he was playing games in the end.

Going to look at investing £60 on alloy refurb that will make it totally immaculate and the silver lining may well be that I'd underpriced it, so it could go up for sale at a higher price.

I've got somewhere else that I can advertise countrywide for free and a well written ad (thanks to Alex's knowledge and experience) so I'll pick myself up and start over again as they say. After an Irish coffee to cheer myself up ;)

Hi Ali! Popping in from lurkdom to say sorry about the car......however, as someone whose fridge freezer died suddenly on Friday and who has had to fork out the sudden expense of a new one, I can see how your buyer may have had a valid reason to drop out of the sale.......although suffice to say, my new fridge freezer cost a lot less than your car!!!

Keep on plodding, you're doing very well and the early morning update I read on my phone help keep me focused too. Unfortunately, DH is still out of work having 'lost' another 'sure thing' job today so our debt is starting to build as we struggle on with my low wage plus the CB and some TCs. What we'll do once my parents stop helping out I don't know! Hey ho, onwards and upwards we go!

Oh Molly, it's lovely to see you, but sorry to hear about the fridge-freezer expense and DH too. It certainly put things into perspective and I'm sure we both know that feeling of "almost certain" good news to it being a distant dream again.

Today I've been busying myself in the spare bedroom with prep and have begun the woodwork painting, whilst DS and his friend have spent all day indoors due to the rubbish weather. I popped out to B&Q as it's nearest and spent £36.14 on paint and roller sleeves, then £10.34 on a Maccy D's for lunch for us all. An expensive day.

I've also posted the car advert onto a second website for free and it's had 5 views within the first hour which is encouraging. I was lucky, I'd had 3 enquiries within 2 weeks, but it needs some dry, sunny weather to entice the type of buyer the car will appeal to. That's the toughie and out of my control! Decided not to spend out on the alloy refurb for now and see where I am with it in a few weeks time.

Dinner for the boys and I is batch spag bol, then I'm going to gloss the woodwork in the spare room and then relax for the evening. I'll pop back and do the financials later as haven't worked my way through my list yet. :) Am also rolling the weekly food shop over to tomorrow morning.

Hi Ali. Sorry to hear about the car falling through. Sending hugs.

Glad to see you are still a whirlwind and getting so much done. I'm going to have a morning flying tomorrow too to try and catch you up.

Hope the weather cheers up soon. :)

I've been reading an old post that Moomin wrote about selling specific Lego pieces - the trunk of DS's Lego is probably an income stream all of it's own. :rotfl:

Laughed when I saw that. A friend of mine is banking on selling her sons VAST Leg* collection to help fund him through university..................... I doubt he will ever part with it:rotfl::rotfl:
