The march to financial freedom
Comments
-
Saturday evening already and not a huge amount to report today.
Checked in on Mum, she's very tired but otherwise ok.
Financials
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar adpoints - no advance on 67
- Nectar Canvass - 80 point one done
- Nectar card value - £30.16
- Inbox Pounds - slight increase to £8.11, lots more I could do on there with a bit more focus and time
- Zapper - seems they still haven't received the boxes as yet, might need to do a bit of chasing up there next week.
- Had a NSD :j
Hair colour is currently developing on headThat's as far as my pampering self has got today! I've pottered on all fronts - housework, bit of spreadsheet and graph playing around and looking like a good pay myself month next Friday.
Started looking at accommodation for Dorset in June, blimey, that's expensive  I'll see if I can find a Travelodge or something a bit further out.
Two of my eBay items ending tomorrow afternoon are collection only, so had better make the hallway clean and presentable before then too!
Hope everyone has had a good day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Morning Ali.....have you thought about staying in a youth hostel? Bound to be a few in Dorset, and would be much cheaper than a hotel???
Molly x0 -
I hadn't! Thanks for that, will have a nosey and see what I come up with. Would save a fortune and bound to be lots of people going to the same event. Some of the hotels are already fully booked up
Will talk to DS about it as well - his ASD can be problematic with sharing facilities/accommodation. School residential trips have been a bit of a nightmare partly due to this, but if he finds like minded tank enthusiasts then hopefully he'll be happyBack on the DFW Wagon:

Me, camping :eek::rotfl::rotfl:
The first time I went camping, my mother said to my BF at the time 'This will be interesting, unless it's got plug sockets for her hairdryer and a shower installed in the tent'
Mum was spot on - trying to put contact lenses in using the car parcel shelf and running across a field to the loo were not my idea of fun! :rotfl:
I'd consider Glamping thoughBack on the DFW Wagon:

OMG! My 2 most expensive items are selling on Bay of E - one auction has just ended on £21, the other has a bidder on it's min start price of £24.99. One is Collection, one postal.
Happy Days!!

Snap!!! I'm not a natural camper AT ALL....even glamping would be pushing it!!!
Good news about the ebay sales....I have some things to list but have the usual issue of can't-be-arsed-it is I'm sad to say!!
Can I ask about Zapper???? I have got the app and found some books (also have my eye on Mr Molly's chemistry textbooks, but don't tell him!!).....there is a collection point round the corner so in theory not too much to do. How have you found it so far?0 -
I find eBay such a faff and the losses with fees and postage costs, but I'm taking the attitude it's getting rid of stuff and I need the space in the study.
There's lots of Yurts on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, hmm...need to look closer. A little B&B would be better I think, just costs seem so high. Travelodge on the coast is a possibility, at least we'll get to see the sea that way! Tank Fest is a bit inland.
Zapper is working out ok so far. You get a receipt with a tracking number from the Collect+ point and can check online to see if Zapper have received it not (takes 3-5 days). Zapper have received our 2 boxes but it's got a 'Waiting' status - so yet to be booked in and items checked for their criteria to buy. Once that is done, the status gets updated to 'Received' and a cheque gets processed - says it's usually complete end to end within 14 days.
I've still to find a few more items for Music Magpie to make up that little package. On a bit of a roll at the momentBack on the DFW Wagon:

Yes, I tend to take the view that it's worth a try on ebay once, maybe twice and then off to the charity shop!! What's the criteria for purchase with zapper? I read that they don't return things so what if they have a big box of your stuff and say it's not good enough to sell??? hmm.... I have £25 worth ready, just want to be sure it's worth the £25 they 'say' it is!!0

That's the risk with any of these buying sites - if it doesn't meet their criteria then they recycle them. Their feedback seems to be good in comparison to say Music Magpie. There's just one book in my boxes that I have a query over - DS drew a picture in pen on a blank inner page, however it does say they allow notes/highlighted areas/drawings as long as the book condition itself is good.
I've found 3 CDs that added to the MM pile makes 11 items - £4.35 worth. Just need to find a box for them now
One of my eBay items hasn't sold but relisted itself  Seems it's free though, phew.4th item has a watcher but no bidder...we shall see what happens!
