The march to financial freedom

The Russian hasn't come to fruition as an option as yet (still time), but DS is so anti-languages at the moment I'm not going to push it.
I think DS will head for History at degree level so no musical talent or a GCSE in it required
It was funny at the time, we'd try and stay quiet so we didn't wake them and have to do some work :rotfl: Quite often we'd get other homework done instead.
I can't see DS wearing shirts at Uni Alex, he's a t-shirt fan. He'd probably trade doing the cooking with someone who could do the ironing if need be
C0stco isn't cheaper than Ald! for too many things, but for teabags and marmite it's great. Random indeed :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Eep!! Didn't really do the maths on that but yes, I got £100 on £3600 last year so that would mean she paid tax at my rate if I saved that much for her. Hmm. Although it also says £100 'per parent' so I could technically double it if Him contributed without her gathering interest. ooh. interestingly he doesn't pay tax anyway as he earns nothing. Much to think on! xx
Going to sleep. Hope you sleep well and don't wake early with dodgy tums or anything else..Hugs xxx

My point about Music was to illustrate that different subjects ask for different things and some will require interviews and entrance tests.
You're not telling me you don't remember the formals at uni, Ali? You can't wear a t-shirt to those, besides I thought they were meant to be ironed anyway?2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -

A good nights sleep at last
It's 'per child' for the parental gifts - trying to find the splurge I read yesterday to copy and paste it, but as always, never there when I want it :rotfl:. That could be a useful loophole with Him not earning. And it's down to the parent to advise HMRC if tax is due so it's not an automatic deduction of tax

Mortgage interest excitement has come early as I've found out I can see the balance and next interest amount due online :j No need for the pesky 10 day wait for the letter to appear
Interest amount this month is £373.42, down £2.36 on last month and down £36.92 per month since Jan 14 :j
Daily interest now at £12.28, down another 8p per day
The split:
Part A £24,000 - daily £2.43, monthly £73.80
Part B £97,380 - daily £9.86, monthly £299.62
Breaking the £300 barrier on the biggie. YES!Another milestone reached
Next mini mile stones are:
- In April, the overpayments will have hit 4 months, meaning original end date of Sept 27 moves to May 27 (aim is Dec 22)
- In May, I'll hit 10% paid off and it'll drop another £1k into the teens
Woop, that's made my day :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Well done Ali....fantastic
You can knock 'em out no problems at all.
I think we should call you 'Muhammed Ali'
Broggers x0 -
That is incredible!!! Less than £300 a month on the big one.. must be an amazing feeling!
- I can see why it becomes addictive!
Well done you... you're an inspiration! xx

:rotfl: Good one Broggers, I like it
Lilty - it's so good having the mini mile stones and achieving them :j I play with the budget and figures to make sure :rotfl:
So after most of the morning on here (and possibly some of the afternoon :rotfl:) I've managed to do a few things and have a NSD into the bargain - that's been a long time coming
Doodle had her 2nd vac and lots of attention into the bargain
Finally dumped the old broken upright hoover at the tip en route to delivering 2 birthday cards, inevitably that resulted in a mug of tea and catch up with said friends
Back home, the sun had gone in and grey clouds arrived with a few spots of rain, but I was determined to do a few bits of shifting stuff from utility room to garage and clear up the garden after doglets. All done
Bathroom cleaned, 3 shirts ironed, washing from airers put away, bedrooms dusted/tidied (but not kondo'ed :rotfl:), dinner cooked, work caught up on and now all ready for tomorrow. I may have eaten a 6 pack of Hotel Chocolat praline chocs too!
And breatheFeeling so much better tonight, I've never known an illness or condition come and go like this one does and wipe me out in the process. A bit of face pain but not so bad and not half as tired. :j
Here's to the new week :beer:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Hive looks to be a trial by invite only. I might email Nectar and see if they'll have me
Some people are using this link to access it https://www.nectar.com/hive.snectar?method=view
I had 3 points added on Friday:T
I didn't think that was too bad considering I only put in 2000 points on Sun 1st so it wasn't a whole week.
If I wanted those points in store I would have needed to spend £1.50 (or £3.00 after April)
I have added a further 500 points today.
I think it is definitely worth doing to increase your points without needing to spend money.0 -
Thanks EE, I've used that link and deposited 6,000 points. Have to admit I've not been doing the surveys or anything that's come through
though am close to enough points for the XL turkey
Car's been in for its 1st service and all went well there - no cost as it's on a plan and part of the business. It is also lovely and clean inside and out, saves me a job or paying out at a handwash place
Pretty poorly today and sure it's migraine - aura, headache after, nausea, double vision, unbalanced again. All part and parcel of the same thing. Popped to chemist but they wouldn't sell me migraleve so ended up with a 96 box of ibruprofen at £3.20.
I've also decided that I need to get off my backside and do something about the symptoms aside from the medical appointments, so I'm seeing a hypnotherapist on Wednesday for a free chat about the panic attacks/anxiety stuff and having a Reflexology session on Saturday afternoon. If nothing else, it'll be relaxing and some self pamperingbut I do believe in it so have a bit of hope it might do some good.
In financial news, the TT pot went off to the ISA today, wish me luck logging into and checking B@rclays tomorrow
The CC statement is in and after my faux pas of paying a bill with it instead of my DC last month, it's cost me 3p in interest  . So mad, that I've set up a payment to it tomorrow to pay the whole lot off. I shall officially be CC debt free on Wednesday when I can see the online statement showing a zero balance
. Going to be a looonnngg wait to update my signature from now to then
Next big decision is do I start a new diary? I'll have achieved what I set out to do in October 2013, albeit the car will need paying for in a year and that'll be one of the savings goals, albeit it's business debt and is covered by emergency fund and savings combined. Just need to keep doing what I'm doingBack on the DFW Wagon:
