Ironing, what's that then? ;) I only iron what's absolutely necessary - usually just DS's shirts and pillow cases, everything else is generally fine straight from the airer into the wardrobe or drawer. :)

So back to work it was and had a good productive day and lunch bought for me :D. Comments on how much better I look which were gratefully received.

A No Spend Day and checked latest Noddle credit report - all good there, and another 7 miles on the bike tonight (19 minutes).

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar card still £25.40
    - Inbox Pounds up at £3.92
    - Qmee still 35p

Finally crossed off DS's Thank You letters from my to do list and last ones posted this morning.

Got a mixed out/about and in office day tomorrow, so will be watching the stress levels carefully as could fall into the rushing habit I'm trying to break.

Think that's all the news here. Should sleep well tonight :)
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    Evening Diary,

A busy day and evening. A No Spend one though :j

21 mins and 8 miles on the bike tonight.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar as was
    - Inbox Pounds at £3.94
    - Qmee still 35p
    - P!necone have sent a couple of preliminary surveys - they use these to pick for the paid ones. Haven't had time to complete them though.

Long day tomorrow and probably won't be home until 7.30pm, so turkey curry is defrosting in the fridge and 10 mins for rice when I get in - a quick dinner shall be ready by 8pm I hope. :)

Didn't get stressed today which was good and tried hard not to rush too. I did phone and book myself a dry hair trim and manicure for Saturday - time for a treat out of my Christmas money. :)

Christmas chocs still to eat - 14 boxes  varying from After Eights, Maltesers and Chocolate Orange through to large Thorntons, Hotel Chocolat and Montezumas. I need to be cycling 20 miles a day to keep shape if I start on any of those :rotfl:

    Hi Ali x

I'm sure you can't have missed this one but.....talking about petrol and Morries......have you got their 'Match & More' card? For petrol this must be better than Nectar as it's 10 points (1p!) for each litre - almost 2xNectar I think at current prices. When you use it in store it (in principle) gives you back the price match amount....of course they brag about price matching with Adli and Leedl providing you spend £15.00 or more.

Its a bit of a surreal experience because you don't know what you are going to earn :o but......it has earned me £20.00 since November on a weekly Morries food shop of £40.00 ish plus my diesel. I think that is pretty good :D !!

At the moment I'm not using it quite as much as Sainsbugs £4.00 off a £20.00 spend vouchers are obviously better value! I do limit the Sainsbug's spend to £20.00 though to get maximum %ge discount...Ha!

I can't imagine it has missed your 'eagle-eye' but its pretty good :) !!

    Have a great (busy) day.

    Brogden x

Good point. Erm :o I've still got the old Miles Card and an application form to send off for the newer one. Must sort that as fuel is consistently 2p a litre cheaper than Sbugs.

I don't really shop in Morries, but if they're matching Aldi on own brand goods then it might be worth it as they're about a mile away and Aldi is 4 miles.

Well my long work day is over, just tomorrow to get through until the weekend. Feeling tired but not stressed and quite well - much better than I was over Christmas.

Most exciting letter of the month arrived today - the new mortgage interest for January is £378.19 - down by £2.54 on last month and a saving of £34.75 a month on Jan 14. :j

I've provisionally put a mortgage capital payment of £860 for February in the budget sheet - which will be paid on 30th Jan as 1st Feb falls on a weekend.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar card £25.40 still
    - Inbox Pounds up to £3.97
    - Qmee still 35p

Very little time tonight to do much, but dishwasher went on after our lovely batch turkey curry, rice and naan bread. Quick, easy and tasty. :)

A No Spend Day as well :j. Having a night off from the exercise bike and will be back on that tomorrow night.

Hope everyone has had a good day. :)

9 boxes of chocolates from your mother and 14 in total? Over the years we got so fed up of people buying us chocolate, this year we made a point of telling them we don't eat it. From one relative on my wife's side instead of the usual box of chocolates, we received quite possibly the cheapest bottle of wine S.burys sell. I'm actually tempted to send it back to them next Christmas.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

I'd list them all, but wouldn't want any chocaholics drooling over and ruining keyboards :rotfl: I may open one of them tonight, having burnt up 200 calories by cycling for 25 mins and 9 miles on the bike.

End of the week :j:j had a visual migraine at work this morning and was tired out by time I left, but dinner tonight and the bike have revitalised me. DS has taxed the brain cells with sharing his inverted proportions homework  Glad he knew what he was doing as I hadn't got a clue :rotfl:

    Financials:
    - Bank account checked - Did a TT of £8.88 to the savings pot, taking that one to £74.39. CC statement has landed and £280 set up to go to that on Monday :j
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar, IP and Qmee - all the same
    - Another No Spend Day :j.

Still haven't sorted how to pay into my ISA, must do that.

There's some work I want to get done over the weekend and think that'll take me half a day and I've got my hair trim and manicure tomorrow morning. Aside from that it's routine housey stuff which I might make a start on tonight (bins, towels, washing etc).

Keeping with the early nights too. Time to hit the chocolate :D

    Happy weekend everyone :)

Sorry to hear you've not been well today. I dread the day my son starts talking about Maths and will be sending him to his mother for those conversations. The strange thing is I was good at it when I was at school but these days I cannot remember how to do quite simple calculations at times.

    Enjoy the chocolates. :)
