The march to financial freedom

I get aural migraines and they are horrible. Thankfully I only get them rarely. Such a horrible sensation when your eye turns into a kaleidoscope5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
I feel in esteemed company with the migraines
I completely went off the planned track today - ending up in town this morning. I bought a good dozen half price presents to put away for Christmas next year - spent £116.77, but saved the same amount so am pleased with those. Free car parking today too.
DS's laptop is not working right again. I've spent hours on it today and still can't fix it, so it's back to the shop again - DS will have to pay all the fee this time and it'll probably need to be sent away.
Work wise, all I've done is prepare the HMRC payment to go tomorrow and get the accounts up to date.
Roast pork is cooking away so looking forward to that tonight and I've ironed DS's shirts for the new week.
Very little to report on the financials, usual checks done and tomorrow will see the CC debt reduce to £1,200. Woo :jBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
No migraines here but I am a medically certified mental case.
You're thinking about Christmas in January, now that is scary.
As for your son's laptop, I'd see if the shop would be willing to sort it for free as it wasn't long since you last had work done to it.
Pleased to hear about your debt and thank you for pushing me to write the final cheque for mine. Only need to put it in the post tomorrow and not cancel it over the coming week.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
But you're a fellow car enthusiast Alex
so I remain in esteemed company
Always good to plan ahead. I have the half price napkins and table cloths for the "big Christmas lunch" stashed away too. All about keeping spends down.
I agree, I shall be discussing whether the fee can be waived given the laptop seems to be a similar issue and so soon since they fixed it.
Delighted you are very soon to be debt free - that's a magnificent achievement :T Just make sure you put a stamp on the envelope :rotfl: and no cancelling the cheque after!
I've given the exercise bike a miss today and have ended up eating lots of snacky things - Pringles, peanuts, few choc biscuits, bit of christmas cake, few chocs  Must keep a saying in mind I heard recently Finger pickers wear big knickers :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020

Oh then I am definitely a finger picker. Although that puts me more in mind of Jellytot's newest favourite activity... picking her nose  - anyways big kickers here I come!
I really hope you can negotiate at the very least a reduced fee on the laptop. I am very lucky that I have tame IT specialists who work for a cup of coffee near me. Although they couldn't rescue my old laptop thinking about it...
You're in good company with thinking about Christmas. Whilst I haven't bought a single present, I have written a list and I am halfway through writing my list of shopping for next years Christmasusing this years waste and big knickers requirements as a guideline!
Have a lovely evening and good luck sending that payment off to the tax man. Have you done your return already?!

:rotfl: at Jelly - good job that type of finger picking won't need big knickers
Tax return went off in early June - it was ready by end of April though, but my Accountant had new software to install and negotiate, so he was the delay :rotfl:. I'm far too organised I know! So tax bill paid this morning for first half of 14/15. :T
Great news with DS's laptop in that the shop waived the £50 this time and possibly, maybe, might do - if it's the hard drive, they may be able to replace for free given it's only 3 months out of it's 12 month warranty and could be deemed a manufacturer fault. Fingers crossed for that one until more news.
I'm on a roll today as our Internet and Phone deal runs out end of this month. With the package gone up to £11 a month in the last few months and line rental going up to a steep £16.70, I've opted for a £9.25 package which gives us a free tv box and new router for a 12 month deal to see if we can drop Sky at £23.50 a month.
On top of that, I can get the 10% speedy payment discount. I like the Anytime Calls and want to keep that bit. Happy with it overall and not going to pay the Line Rental in advance as there is no added value now - the 10% discount is the same as the monthly speedy discount, so the advantage is theirs, not mine if I do that. Follow me  No, me neither :rotfl:
I've also negotiated another 6 months of the office rental at a slighty lower cost from next month - how quickly the last 5 have gone
My work shoes that I paid £25 for in the autumn of 2013 are looking rather tatty now, so I popped into a local outlet/manufacturer shop we have here and picked up a nice pair for the princely sum of £9. I don't know if they'll last as they're not leather but they are cushioned, a great fit and comfortable.
Financials - apart from checking the bank account and seeing the £280 gone to the CC :j I've the rest to do later.
Sig update coming next! Woop :jBack on the DFW Wagon:

Wow such a whirlwind of activity. Lots of savings to be proud of there too
well done!
And the 10% discount not making a difference made perfect sense. ay as well earn the interest yourself than let them do so!

Food shop done tonight - £15.92 spent in Ald! including some trendy Kale that I've never tried before and a mango that I've managed to cut and scoop - great for nibbling on.
Have missed another night of exercise on the bike thoughwill need to do a good one tomorrow instead.
Been a full on day and evening - dinner was LO roast pork with mash and veg. We'll use the last of that tomorrow night.
Busy work day tomorrow with an early meeting, so early to bed.Back on the DFW Wagon:
