Money update as a couple of spends to report today.

    - Hairdryer collected - £14.99
    - Prescription changed - 2 items - £16.10

Neither were choice spends and they're the type that can upset the budget applecart.

    Other financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar - not done anything here and card value the same
    - Inbox Pounds - £19.39
    - Qmee - 54p in the pot

I think the New Year might need a new injection of the "little earners" and that long overdue plan to see an IFA, reminded by my Personal Pension Plan statement arriving in the post. I'm about 50% short of the pot size I probably need for a fairly mediocre retirement. That could change the overpayments to the mortgage as I might need to look at investing more for retirement. There's never enough money for everything is there?

Before then, going to have to get the winter duvet out as we've gone from 21C here on Friday to 9C today and the heating has been on at 19C. It's cold out there tonight. Better do some more physical activity (aka cleaning :rotfl:) to keep me warm til bedtime!

Hope everyone's week has started off well. :)

Thanks Brogden and I found your diary today and read through, must post too!

I've surprised myself that I've managed to chip away at the mortgage as much as I have - not to the detriment of the debt clearance though as that's on 0% for 18 months, so I'm just taking advantage of reducing interest costs on the mortgage during it's fixed period and keeping a decent Emergency Fund - a necessity with being self employed and having the office overheads.

I worry tremendously about it all even though it's working out well at the moment. I'm sure if I were DF and MF, I'd still find something to worry about anyway :rotfl: (private pension and retirement funds are bothering me lately). Just programmed that way I think. :o

Pension funds are bothering me too! At a 'too advanced age' I'm back to basics and from disaster comes some semblance of normality and for that I am thankful.

Don't worry too much.......and yes, I should post more. If people find it boring they don't have to read it do they :)?

    Have a lovely day tomoz.

Pension thoughts pushed aside for now - finding a decent IFA first is higher up the list and then I'll start worrying if he says the same as I think :rotfl:

Last night I coloured my hair finally. That was the last box, but read on someone's diary (sorry can't remember who :o) that the P0undland stuff is good. Anyone tried Ald!'s? Brogden am not expecting you to answer that :rotfl:

Busy work day so all good there and a flurry of enquiries which is great as that could turn into billable in the New Year when it's usually quieter. Sore ear from being on the phone so much though :rotfl:

INOD - I'm trying so hard to get IP up to £20 and payout, but where as I used to rack up surveys, I am just being rejected pretty much on 8 out of 10. :( Not sure I'll stick with it after this one.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - use and pay off monthly CC rolled over late last week so have set that up for full payment a week before due date. A big bill though with the garden stuff on there
    - freepostcodelottery checked - not mine sadly, but the pot is on £300 payout today
    - Nectar - it's slipping away from me and not done anything here. Must start the Search for November. Card value up 3p to £71.15
    - Inbox Pounds - a smidgeon more at £19.43
    - Qmee - still on 54p

Forgot I squeezed in a P!necone Survey Friday night and I've just converted the points to £3 to Paypal. :T

And a No Spend Day too. I would say I'm staying in the warm tonight, but am heading into the loft where I suspect it'll be fairly chilly. Christmas cards, wrapping paper, decs (will put in spare room) and the winter duvet all coming down. :)

Still not been back to see the Garden Nursery chap. I think I need to contact a couple of artificial lawn companies next and get the grass shape sorted, then what's left will be flower border and nursery chap can fill that in. :)

And still not deep cleaned other half of dining room. Plenty to keep me busy then. :D

    Evening Diary,

Didn't get lost in the loft last night, but got carried away with hunting out everything Christmas related and searched everywhere for my winter duvet....only to find later it was stored in one of the bedrooms anyway :rotfl:

Hospital letter arrived today, so I've scanned that in, blanked out information that isn't necessary for the college to know and emailed it off. Fingers crossed I'll get the course refund now.

DS's podiatry appointment letter also arrived - clashes with opticians, so need to move one of those. Always happens to me!

Took the Springy back for his 2nd booster vaccination and he came back full of treats courtesy of Vet, reception and store staff. Gotta love a freebie :D. I did spend £3 on squeaky Air Kong balls - that's kept them entertained tonight (springy just walks around squeaking it, so funny!).

Financials today - not alot to report at all.
    - Bank account checked
    - Freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar - as was
    - Inbox Pounds - up a tad to £19.48
    - Qmee as was

Have done the food shop tonight and added in alot of Christmas stuff - wrapping paper, crackers, jigsaw puzzle present and bits and pieces - a big spend of £47.93. I did get braising steak, mince and a chicken and that soon adds up.

That's the day done here. Hope everyone has had a good one. :)

Ooh just seen on the nectar site that there's a double up points event 19th -25th November and across more sections than this time last year. Ashame it's not on frozen desserts again though...that's my plan out of the window then!

I know you were only joking...mine is past shoulder length now, but DS has caught me up. He's more MSE than I give him credit for in so many ways, refusing hair cuts most of the time is just one of them :D How lucky am I?! :rotfl:
