  • Wow Ali, you've had a very productive day. :)

I've had a good day, not productive as yours but satisfied with where we got to. DD is now working every Saturday, I drop her off and do the shopping, then DH picks her up. My shopping was at MrTs as I had a fiver off a £40 spend and managed to stock up on a few items for the month.

Poo to nectar ads finishing. I agree was good while it lasted. My MrT points are up to £40 now. You've reminded me to heck on Quidco though, haven't done for a little while.

DH is finishing dinner while I catch up on Strictly (not sure I like the Halloween theme) and MSE.

Will be a TV dinner tonight I think then need to get sorted for back to school/work Monday.

Have a good rest of the weekend all!

I may have been productive yesterday, but certainly making up the rest time today - haven't done much yet and it's midday already! I did sleep in until 9ish though, unusual for me and definitely rare for the dogs!

Having popped out to the garden nursery armed with photos and measurements, the chap I need to see is not there today! He'll be back tomorrow (which is good for me as have an 'Admin' (read skiving) day to come :D

Though I'd come back home via the Retail Park to pick up the hairdryer, until it was obvious that the traffic queues were backing up by a good mile  - I'll leave that until tomorrow too in that case. Should mean a No Spend Day as well. :)

So things I can do today:

    - Book both dogs in for grooming
    - Ironing
    - Colour hair (that's been waiting a few weeks as well)
    - Work stuff possibly
    - Deep clean dining room - side unit and dining table need another wax
    - General polish and hoover rest of house
    - Xmas stuff
    - Last trim of hedge

I doubt very much I'll do all those! Will tackle the small things first...ironing pile here I come whilst lunch is cooking. Tonight it's roast gammon, so we'll have 2 more days of that for dinners.

Weather here is a bit mixed - rain on and off/bit chilly/sun trying to poke through or I might have tried out the new hose and cleaned the car!

Sorry INOD, how did I miss your post?

I would say about right if you're likely to talk fast. Usually I work on 3 mins per slide but sped up, you're on the money there. Good luck.

Final entry for today to note progress.

Ironing done and half the dining room deep cleaned, the other half will have to wait for now. Two sets of double doors washed both sides, oak unit waxed and paintwork/radiator washed. And half the floor :rotfl: The other half is washing a built in painted cupboard, a small window inside and out and the dining table and chair legs to wax, plus the other half of the floor and skirting. :D

So not much off my list, but making good progress towards a clean house in time for Christmas as the hardest rooms will be out of the way first.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - £925 mortgage capital goes tomorow :j Must remember to phone them at 8am
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar - card value still at £71.12
    - Inbox Pounds - up a tad at £19.36 - so close to the £20 cash out now.
    - Qmee - picked up 11p there, so 54p in the pot

Over and out for tonight. :)

  • When drawing up the next list, can you include giving yourself a day off?

I'll try :rotfl: Think it will be Christmas and I'm definitely taking a break and days of doing nothing at all :D

Mortgage Update Day :j and £925 paid this morning. Another milestone reached as Part 2 is now under £100k :T

    Part 1 stands at £25,138
    Part 2 stands at £99,700. Total £124,838

Next milestone is getting part 2 to under £300 a month interest - am aiming for February 2015. Also planning to give the mortgage a Christmas Bonus on 1st December by paying £1,100 capital. Depends on how the business month and garden costs go, but I've factored it into next month's budget and fingers crossed I can make it happen.

Better get on with some work now! :D

    Fantastic work Ali :)

I am dying to get to work on our mortgage and think I might start with a token effort. I have been putting everything into the 'unsecured shambles' by I am hoping that will look much better in Feb / March time and I am not going to wait to be completely debt free to start getting the mortgage down a bit!

Thanks Brogden and I found your diary today and read through, must post too!

I've surprised myself that I've managed to chip away at the mortgage as much as I have - not to the detriment of the debt clearance though as that's on 0% for 18 months, so I'm just taking advantage of reducing interest costs on the mortgage during it's fixed period and keeping a decent Emergency Fund - a necessity with being self employed and having the office overheads.

I worry tremendously about it all even though it's working out well at the moment. I'm sure if I were DF and MF, I'd still find something to worry about anyway :rotfl: (private pension and retirement funds are bothering me lately). Just programmed that way I think. :o
