SS - It's scary when they say brain scan but I'm feeling more optimistic than I was about the outcome. It's not knowing what I can do to improve things in the meantime that I'm struggling with and of course the driving issue which I'm mostly managing. May still have to be referred back to the Eye Hospital as it's possible that's a combined issue - that goes back a few years to the head trauma and subsequent repair by laser surgery. The good news is I've felt quite well today, so am thankful for that.
It's been a busy work day and the office was left in a mess so I could get home in time for the gravel delivery - which ended up being late anyway. So went back tonight and tidied that up. Time never flew like it does since I've been self employed - whether that's down to advancing age or enjoying work or both even!
Didn't get chance to do the business banking, so that's a 9am job tomorrow - lucky to have a small local branch I use with free parking. I'll pay myself after that and get my monthly 'allowance' cash for bits and pieces.
Sorted DS's bags out - mouldy roll, smelly sports socks and empty water bottles later :rotfl:, they're ready for when he goes back after half term. One load of washing done and on the airer, dishwasher load done and bins all emptied. Not sure how much progress I can make on housey stuff tomorrow with the garden gang here, plus need to get those muffins made first thing too.
Financials -
- bank account checked, a TT of £1.29 to savings done, total in there is £30.71. That's adding up surprisingly quickly
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar adpoints - still 28, nothing new
- Nectar Canvass - might try and do one of those in a moment
- Nectar card value - up at £124.94
- Inbox Pounds - up a tad at £18.41. Did try for a few surveys but got thrown out. Will try to get to £19 over the weekend and £20 by 1st Nov so I can cash that out and put towards the CC
- Qmee - no advance on the 43p in the pot
Still got the heating off, though DS was cold last night so we had the gas fire on low (first time in many years since repair/service this year) - I'll do the elec/gas readings tomorrow and see how much that's pushed our usage up.
Time for a cuppa and I feel a Canvass survey coming on. What am I going to spend all these Nectar points on though? Will have to pop to Sbugs soon as the XXL turkeys should be out - that'll be £50 worth gone I suspect.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and I might miss updating tomorrow with everyone here, but sure to be a Sunday update.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Glad to hear you are feeling optimistic about it all. It would be wonderful to get a solution, but I am so amazed that you are keeping so positive and things are going so well. Have a great weekend.
ps I've just come on here to find the lemon cake recipe but of course have got distracted.

Morning SS, ooh I love lemon cake of any sort...going to have to bake something as all I seem to make is chocolate based ones. DS doesn't like lemon, so I can have it all to myself :rotfl:

A quick update from yesterday before I forget what a great day it was and get stuck into today's tasks.
Phase I of the garden is complete :j:j The gravelled area looks amazing, the new hosepipe is firmly on the wall, my washing line is now 2 loads long instead of 1 :rotfl: and I've got an 'indoor' line in the garage from re-using the old one in there. Feeling quite MSE with the lines
I painted the new fence panels my side the neighbour had put in from leftovers, but ran out near the end and it needs a second coat anyway. Fence paint seems to be out of season in shops now, but luckily for me, a quick google and a phone call and I picked up exactly what I needed (Cuprin0l) for £4 in Wilk0 this morning - last one on the shelf. :T So that's what I'll be doing today after checking the weather forecast. I need to wash the deck down (rather than take the layers of stain off by pressure washing) and hopefully have enough of that in the other leftover tin to do another coat on there - it'll all look as good as new in that corner then. :T
The garden work stops now until w/c 17th November when there's a good run of 5 days for the raised area to be razed, retaining wall made out of those fab sleepers to go in and I really do have to decide what I want the new enlarged flat surface to look like. Gotta get a move on designing
Financials:
- bank account checked. Did the business banking and paid myself, plus done monthly accounts, reconciled expenses.
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar adpoints - just 28 still for this week
- Nectar Canvass - did a 40 pointer Fri night
- Nectar card - up at £125.14
- Inbox Pounds - up at £18.55
- Qmee - still 43p in the pot
We had succulent YS loin pork roast and there's enough left over for DS and I to finish off tonight.
Got some work stuff I'll need to catch up on later today and housework may appear back on the agenda (it needs to), but DS is fully into the swing of half term already with his online games and friends and as long as he is fed and watered at timely intervals, I probably won't see much of him for a week :rotfl:

I heeded your post INOD - chilled out this afternoon instead of painting fence panels. Weather looks good for a couple of days and I should have half a day spare on Tuesday so have pushed it back. No real rush.
Ironing done, dinner done, some tv watched and that's been about it. Nice to stop completely, though I tend to fall asleep when I do that nowadays :rotfl:
Financials for today:
- bank account checked. Mortgage capital payment set up for £925 for 3rd November.
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar all as was yesterday
- Inbox Pounds - got that up to £18.99
- Qmee as was
Early night tonight as early start tomorrow. Remembered the clocks going back though still a couple to change that aren't automatic. Better get the car manual out for that one :rotfl:
Better catch up on work stuff too, saves rushing tomorrow.Back on the DFW Wagon:

:rotfl: Roll up, roll up, car clock changing made easy here!! Did mine this morning without the manual. Made easier by buttons that say 'Menu' followed by 'Time and Date'
Not bad for a sleepy head at 7.30am sat at traffic lights.
Busy work day, DS survived without me for 4 hrs at a time :rotfl:. Came home at lunchtime and sorted his lunch and we've had chicken curry from a batch out of the freezer tonight.
He's after going to the cinema this week and a friend coming with us, think we're plumping for Wednesday evening. A spend there. Also spent 89p on milk for the office this morning. Must remember to pick up an extra small one with the weekly shop each week to reduce that cost. And treated myself to a lottery ticket as it's a big rollover on Wednesday. Gotta be in it to win it!
Financials then:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar adpoints - new week, 11 points in the bag
- Nectar Canvass - 40 pointer just done
- Nectar card value - £125.14
- Inbox Pounds - up at £19.06
- Qmee - still 43p in the pot
I had a quick flick back through the beginning of my diary - this time last year I was buying the Xmas turkey, presents and wrapping and writing cards  I'm behind this year in that case, so though it's been on my To Do list for a few weeks now, I've made little progress, so that's soon to become a priority.
There was the list of DIY jobs that were outstanding and pleased to say all have been done excepting the insulation above the kitchen and utility room, but the garden gang do have that in their sights...I am keeping a list for them and keep adding to it.
It's feet up tonight here. Bins are out for collection tomorrow, dishwasher has been on again and now emptied and I've filled the car with cardboard to take to the tidy tip at some point tomorrow. I'm only in the office for a few hours - taking time out whilst I can and getting on with painting those fence panels.
Hope everyone's week has started well and no-one is confused by the time. :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:
