  • The amount of times Denzel has ran into the end of doors. He was hanging off the back of our flat screen TV earlier, I'm not in a habit of "rescuing" him but I was concerned for his safety and the TV if it toppled. I must check my home insurance to check I'm covered for kitten damage!
  • has he been done ? you would have been better getting him chipped when he was under, he is not gonna like that chip needle
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

My vet also recommended that we get the kitten chipped while she was being neutered. It made sense because she was kept inside until she was spayed anyway.

We did the same with our two, got them chipped when they were neutered, the vet advised us to do it plus it was slightly cheaper
  • Vet won't neuter him till he's 6months. The didn't say to wait.
  • I'm very proud of my boy he made no fuss at all and passed his health check.

He was offered treats to distract him from his microchip injection but he refused them and didn't wiggle or cry when he had his chip done.

if you're not going to let him out until he's been neutered, I'm surprised the vet didn't suggest waiting to have him microchipped.

My kitten has just been done this week and he is most annoyed he can't play out yet. We'd been letting him go out on a harness attached to dog lead locked at a specific length so he couldn't get into any mischief/leap fences etc. Even just sitting on the patio watching the world go by seems to tire him out. He's taken to climbing on everything, trying to reach picture frames hanging on the wall this week to exert some energy. He likes chasing after the cat laser pen we bought him, it focusses his mad half hour dashes.

I don't know if any of this would help you.
  • I don't think it's made much difference getting the chip done now, he was going in anyway for a check up.

If he had made a fuss we'd have waited but he was very chilled out.

I must get a laser pen oddly I couldn't find one in pets at home.

Do cats not pull or get stressed on a lead? Denzel is very bold and I'm beginning to find the idea of him out alone a bit daunting.
  • Denzel does laps of the flat and plays hunting with his monkey to tire himself out.

We actually lock the length of the lead and secure it under a bench leg with the lead's handle, if you can picture what I mean, so he has limited movement around the garden. He did try to pull to get further at first and tried a few unsuccessful leaps over the fence to folow the other cats but he quickly learned his boundaries. Obviously we keep an eye on him as he has an annoying habit of wrapping the lead around and around the bench and we have to keep unravelling it. He can reach the back door even after a few trips around the bench leg so he will peer in at the door and miaow when he's had enough fresh air.
When I pick up his harness and call him, he comes running and purrs as I put it on him :)

Harley would never let me hold the lead and walk with him like a dog.

I guess though some cats could get distressed.
