My kitten is 11 months old and she's still confined to one room at night. The other night I gave her the benefit of the doubt and was woken up to the sound of her alternating between beating up the older cat and racing herself up and down the stairs. The little git knew she was being bad, she kept diving under the bed so I couldnt catch her and put her downstairs. :rotfl:

yep, i think some cats just don't suit being upstairs and being calm when you're trying to sleep at night.

my previous cat, from a little kitten, was more than happy to sleep on my bed all night every night, with no fuss.

Current kit, Ed - no chance. He's 6 months old now, we've had him for nearly 4 months, and he's only managed one night without waking up a couple of hours after going upstairs with us. He wakes up, jumps on you, bats your nose to wake you up, and then expects to play. Nope - downstairs for him :).

Lots of games and entertainment then.....in about 5 years this will if you are lucky have subsided a bit.

How cute does he look...and he's going to be tall judging by his legs!
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

One of my cats literally only gets up to find another spot to sleep in. That and to pee and eat. She had this one toy she used to play with all the time, and it got lost. She, even now, years later won't entertain any other toys.

My other cat sleeps most of the day and is awake all night, I don't mind so much as I have insomnia so happily play with him. He usually curls up in bed with me around 5-6 am.

Basically, cats sleep as and when they want. He'll sort his own routine and as long as the health check is good, don't worry about it.

He's got very long legs. When he stretches out in long line he's about 2ft long.

Yes! I know it's silly. Our cat is 8 and just sleeps all day. On the days when I am there I don't think he even notices anyway.

Went out on saturday night and after about an hour I just wanted to go home and see him :o.

    Your kitten is gorgeous :):).

Yes! They're hampering my social life too as I can't bring myself to leave them in the evenings or at the weekend!

no - but i'm a wreck when we go away overnight or on holiday and Ed is in the care of a pet-sitter or cattery - even though he has a whale of a time in our absence ;).

Ive only had Barnes for three months - and already I am stressing that next years holiday might get cancelled - unless I can take him with me! we usually borrow a friends caravan in Pembrokeshire - they may be agreeable to us taking Barney as we go down in 'off season', and they take their dog all the time..........if not - I am NOT going, I cannot leave him at home and he would be miserable without his routine!

You do get used to the Cat 'Mad hour' - sons cat Felix used to chase imaginary butterflies all over the landing at about 2.30 - 3.00am. then charge into sons room and headbutt the wall! but then, he was rather insane! (Felix, not son), the tales I could tell you about him would make your hair go white!
