encourage kitten to sleep at night

I know you won't want to hear this but I feel that this is one of the problems you face with keeping a cat indoors all the time.
He will be allowed outside in time but he only had his last injections a week ago and has not yet been micro chipped.
However I have heard Siamese's tend not to go out much any way, the Siamese my OH had, had constant access to the garden and only went out if they were out side or the sun was shining and warm.0 -

I'm hoping to try to get him to sleep more at night rather than waking up to what sounds like a heard of elephants racing up and down the hallway.
:rotfl: the elephants are going to be part of your life for the next 18 odd years. Get used to it!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Sounds like normal cat behaviour to me. Our's will sleep most of the day and then have a few hours of hyper-time around dusk. She's like a Duracel bunny for around 3 hours then, wanting to go out and tearing around. She used to go hyper later, around the time we go to bed, but that has gradually changed over time, now she sleeps on the bed with us most of the night, with an occasional wander round the house inbetween. She'll start going hyper again for a while when she wants her breakfast, just to wake us up ^^
Must not forget cats are nocturnal hunters by nature...0 -
We shut our kits in the kitchen at night as if they have the run of the house they are like hooligans
As long as they have full tummies and a duvet to sleep on they are usually quiet in the kitchen.
They have spurts of activity interspersed by sleep during the day depending on the weather. If it is nice they spend most of the day pottering around the garden. If it is wet then they spend most of the day asleep in the warm. If they don't get out in the day there is usually some hooliganism in the evenings to burn off energy.
Cats seem to prefer to be more active at night but you can to a certain extent change this to day time activity. Hope your kitty gets on OK with his health check on Wednesday. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Glad to hear that he does have mad sessions, then it's fine that he sleeps solid inbetween- kittens do tend to like wearing themselves out, and deep sleep is just recharging batteries time.
Most kittens love being active at night, shadows are fun!DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0 -
I presume you are not going to allow a Pedigree Siamese free outside access? Most breeders will stipulate that the cat is kept indoors with only supervised outside time, perhaps in a harness or access to a cat proof garden. Pedigree cats are way too confident and friendly to be allowed to free roam in most neighbourhoods.0

I don't know how one tiny Kitten can be so loud when running about. I'm much bigger and make less noise.0 -

I'm sure it'll be fine he's getting his micro chip so thought we'd get a health check too and give us chance to chat to his new vet.0 -

I'm considering a lead but he's expressed no interest in outside as yet, we don't have a cat flap so will likely be supervised.0 -
My kitten is 11 months old and she's still confined to one room at night. The other night I gave her the benefit of the doubt and was woken up to the sound of her alternating between beating up the older cat and racing herself up and down the stairs. The little git knew she was being bad, she kept diving under the bed so I couldnt catch her and put her downstairs. :rotfl:0
