    Oh, yes, they do!

If people complain they will be sent out and tickets will be issued.

Maybe you're the city centre or maybe you're just plain fruit loops!

So you're earthstorm as well as Plog86?

    No they don't.

Maybe I'm the city centre but not on a residential street.

Yes they do give tickets to cars parked on pavements in our county, this power was handed over to local authorities when the police authorities handed over the powers of parking services ( traffic wardens) to local authorities.

No I am saying the police don't take it as a serious breach of a law. If the people who enforce laws don't think it's worth enforcing then I don't see why anyone should obey that law.

    :rotfl: Goater's back! :rotfl:

And standing on an 'It's OK to break the law if the people who enforce it are too busy' ticket.

An interesting concept but not one that will get you much traction in a court of law.

Really! If something is against the law you shouldn't do it, whether you will be caught and punished shouldn't be the reason you don't do it.

It's like people who think it's fine to park on double yellow lines when the parking wardens are on strike or not pay at council car-parks.

That's very naive. There are many insignificant laws that people don't obey.

It's nothing like people parking on double yellows.

    this one isn't insignificant!

It's about wrong parking so exactly the same as parking on double yellow lines.

Goater's back, and, I see, still using the old 'if two people disagree with me they must be the same person', argument. :rotfl:

Goater, you really are a hoot.

I suppose your next response will be that I've only joined this thread to have a go at you. :D

Yes but they're not too busy they just turn a blind eye as they realise that with narrow terrace streets it's often the only option.

You're a sensible lad so I find it very unlikely you think I am wrong.

    Glad that you've missed me.

Fortunately, the law itself does not agree with you rather c0ck-a-mamy take on it.

It sounds like something that a not very bright four year old would come up with.

Well it was a bit weird as I replied to earthstorm but then the other poster replied as if I was replying to him. I therefore assumed it was the same poster and they had made a strategic mistake.

well this statement show really how much you know.

parking on yellow lines/parking on pavements and many what may be minor breaches of the law are handled by traffic wardens and not the police. but as the police authority handing traffic warden responsibilities to local authorities then tickets will be issued by local authority enforcement officers.
