 Hi Valli!
Hugs Jazee for both you and SickDog.
Rent acquired, lodgers shuffled, washing wet on line (grr wevver forecast), forecast checked again. It looks as though the worst of it is going to miss us, and will also pass through later than anticipated. OH and I are going over to the chalet tomorrow afternoon to shove the garden furniture in the shed (sounds so much grander than it actually is) and turn the water off and drain the system down. I think I'll turn the electricity off too, just in case. If it's not belting down we might run Mrs Dog on the beach, too.Better is good enough.0 -
Thanks for the supportive comments, folks.
The house is in a pretty good state so we can go off on our jollies without me feeling as though I need to clean it from top to bottom before I leave. We are travelling on the Hull to Rotterdam ferry on Sunday night so wish me good weather please and I'll 'see' you all the week after next.

Hi Honey Bear!
I'm having a bit of a lazy day though I have been to buy books for next term's topic. And I have had a nap - given I am not sleeping to well because of my cold/cough not surprising.
I need to write a job list and a shopping list. DD is at work tonight so I will do it when I take her. I have stripped my bed and run three WM loads and two TD loads all on overnight leccy - so some good is coming out of having a cold.
I alos need to list on ebay, to clear the house of clutter, really.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -

I still have my 3 boys and DIL to buy for and I have just tonight sorted the 3 girls after they wrote Christmas lists earlier. OH decided last night he wants my help to do the children too .. I could cry.. is it so hard to put a little thought into it? My mother suggested I apply for a job as a personal shopper once Pixie is older! Apparently I am really good at it.. funny how this is the only time this year she has bothered with me.. best be nice to piggers I want my shopping doing! ... Hope you enjoyed yourself Froddy, I can just imagine a sea of fans singing along to I don't like Mondays (which is a compulsory song on the young Skints mp3 players, important part of university of life education IMHO)The cold never bothered me anyway0 -

EX came to see young Skints today instead of Sunday, so I spent a couple of hours in the garden today tidying up and putting away, looking for potential problems for when storm hits, I just cannot bear the thought of any damage or more paperwork right now. I will need to do some more tomorrow, when I have DD3 to help out.
Shared some of my recent good fortune apple and nectarine whoopsies with the Nice NDN, as they like making chutneys and stuff....and my freezers are now at capacity and it would be a crime to throw any of it away.
I have not used DW for 4 days now, as I am desperately trying to get my energy bills down, and I am missing it like crazy. I might give in tomorrow and use it for after lunch for a treat.
WM fed twice today. Fed up to my missing wisdom teeth with amount of washing, especially towels (because of DD3 skin condition sharing towels is a no no, and she doesn't like using same towel from one bath/shower to the next without it going through the wash.) Everyone is now having a vigorous rub with a flannel instead of great big fluffy bathsheets, so they are dry enough to wrap up in dressing gown to get back to their room to get dressed. DD3 and I with long hair get a small towel or turbie towel to wrap up hair.....I am going to make this stick if it kills me.:money: I want more money to feed the young Skints not to line pockets of the greedy big 6.
Been using Martin's photo print checker thingy to print off pics from DS nursery photo shoot, so I can give some to DD1 and DD2 when they come next week(both are feeling home sick and want pics for their cork pin boards), I decided it will be more faffing about to print them myself and run out of ink halfway through. Especially as there are a few freebies out there, so I can just pay for postage :money:
Going to get some shut eye, or at least try :rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0
