Many thanks for this; I've bookmarked those for later perusal. I suffer from severe and persistent depression, with what my GP has on my notes as "suicidal ideation" so I'm grateful to you for taking the time to post this.
Sorry to hear that LW, there are more of us out here than people think. I suffered from PTSD and post-natal depression when DD and DS1 were small, when I got to the day that the sound of DS1 crying meant that it was him or me, I decided that they were much better off without me. I owe my life to the fact that a friend called in unexpectedly. Not many of my closest friends or family know that about me.
The chap I mentioned was the father of DDs best friend. They read a portion of his suicide note at the funeral to open the doors to discussion of mental health; he was tired of pretending that everything was ok and thought that everyone was better off without him. So being prepared to talk about how we feel or have felt in the past just might help someone else. When you are down in that dark hole you can feel very alone and your illness can prevent you from acknowledging that you need help or from being able to seek it.
I got some help 15 years ago but have had to learn to love myself as a 'cracked pot' ever since. I try to acknowledge my flaws and to live my life mindful of their existence.
My DD has also suffered with low mood and suicidal thoughts but was able to seek help and move forward, and whilst this death and grieving has been a real blow, I think it has been a shocking realisation that suicide isn't the answer.
I'm grateful to people, like the flyladies, who help me in my daily life without even realising it. Where something as simple as a list to complete can help to reduce stress and bring a sense of purpose to a day, or a friendly and encouraging word can mean more than the bestower would ever know.
So thanks everyone and take care.

I paired up socks... I died of boredom!!!
I asked DH yesterday why he pulls all the pants and socks out of his drawer dividers everyday? Answer "it's a mood thing, I like to feel them before I decide which to wear". What? :rotfl:Proud to have dealt with our debt. DFW Nerd 1474

Thank you Lemaine, that was a very powerful and brave post. I hope your day is calm and happy.
Now I've found out what 'frogs' are I'm chomping on one a day. Yesterday I got my sh*t together and went to open an account at my local credit union and to apply for a loan. OH and I have a nasty shortfall between payday and rent day to cover and I've been tearing my hair out trying to bridge the gap without going to W*nga .
I've started to delegate some Flying too! OH asked if there was anything he could do yesterday expecting me to say (as usual) that it was all under control. When I asked him to clean the bathroom sink there was a moment of silence then off he went. It wasn't a perfect job but he got praised to the hilt and it's on his list of things he can do now! He's not bad but just needs his repertoire expanding from time to time. :rotfl:

Morning all,
It's a dreich day here, think the sun forgot to rise this morning and now it's started pouring down. Not sure the BF tidied up properly in the garden last night so dread to think what mess there is out there.
Having one of those days where I've got so much to do that I really don't want to be at the paid stuff, I just want to get home and get busy. Sadly that won't pay the bills though so need to man up and get on with it!
House warming tomorrow which will now definitely be an indoor event so will need to ensure there is suitable seating, still putting up the gazebo for the two smokers visiting. Food was planned for indoor cooking/cold buffet so no changes there.
It's going to be a busy night/morning getting things finished but I'm sure when i'm sat with a bottle of bubbly tomorrow it'll all be worth it!
Am hoping to also squeeze in a tidy up and dye of my hair so i look as presentable as the house will be!
Bought a slow cooker last night so quite excited for trying my first meal in it!
Jazee so sorry to hear about your doggy news, hugs to you all.
Hugs, spoons and vibes where needed

Mel
I had some disappointing news this morning - Millie's owners have cancelled their booking; apparently there's been a death in the family and they've had to cancel their holiday. So when Ruby goes home tomorrow, I have no more bookings. Ah well.
Friday is computer maintenance day for me; we also have to do the once-monthly back-up of absolutely everything this weekend, so I'll try and get mine done today and leave the back-up flash drive available for Mr LW to do his stuff himself. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
oh for goodness sake... I have a parcel which isn't mine and my 2 aren't here and it is all a mess and a jumble.. good job I have a sense of humour today.. though trying to sort it over the phone with a screaming child on my lap is proving very difficult!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Lemanie I echo the other sentiments of the others, especially how brave you are to acknowledge your innermost feelings. Children bring so much happiness, but I know only to well that feeling that somehow they would have a better life without me fouling it up for them.
