Haha I know!! :rotfl: And I thought I had money issues! DH is in the industry so he finds the whole thing VERY entertaining!!
Re: the washing powder, I do remember reading this on your thread, thanks for the recipe. I'll have to investigate borax, I use cloth nappies and know there are a few things you can't wash them with, otherwise the prospect of no more washing powder is super appealing

A good money saving day today. No spends, and I sold a bfeeding dress for the same price as I bought it for
to be collected this weekend though so not counting the pennies until they're in my hand.
I've just spent the evening making purees for baby star, and as I'm trying to be inventive with what's left in the cupboards, the plan is for me and toddler star to have the butternut squash and lentil one with pasta and Parmesan for tea tomorrow. DH is away with work for a couple of nights so there's just the three of us to think about. I've also made cookies to avoid any trips to the shop for sweet things - I really must tackle my sugar addiction but not sure I've got the energy (ironically
)
Washing all hung on the airer to dry, cheque still not sent, oops.
So now sitting with a cup of tea and a cookie or three, before bed, until the little one no doubt calls

Back again, this posting daily thing is actually happening at the moment and I feel like it's helping. DH is still away and the boys acted like a tag team through the night last night so I need matchsticks for my eyes, it I'm determined to watch Bake Off before I give in and go to bed!!
Another positive day, a spend of £2 for a lovely singing group with the boys, 30 mins singing, then drinks and biscuits and chats with friends. Well worth it I say
Then this afternoon I took the boys to a local farm for a walk around and sit on the tractors - all free and we went with friends so lots of fun.
I'm having to make a point of reflecting on each day and realising that even avoiding town and making the food we have at home stretch for one more day are small successes in the fight against the debt. Once DH is home and I've had more than 7 minutes sleep I'll start the selling again but until then, I'm pleased with today

Thanks Brizzle, it was a mixed weekend really, hope yours was good.
I've not posted as I was firstly honouring Film Friday which me and DH have committed to - this basically means working our way through the Am*zon Pr!me free films every Friday. We take it in turns to choose and I really look forward to it
Then we totally let loose on Saturday night and started setting up YNAB again, which we added to last night to prepare us for getting started in Oct. Slightly embarrassingly, I can't wait
I've listed all of 1 thing on the Bay of E, and taken pics of several other things to list. I prefer to list from Sunday to Sunday but I think I'm just going to crack on with bits here and there whenever I get a minute as it's the way it's most likely to get done.
The dress I sold was collected and the girl was delighted so all good there, and money already transferred to where it should be.
The one difficult thing of the weekend has been a chat with DH, where I've really seen the extent to which this is affecting him. I must be quite resilient, as I am generally quite ok-ish and proactive (with a few wobbles), but DH is just down, and it's only really been this weekend that he's admitted its because of The Debt. He thinks it's going to be this way for years and what I really need is a team-mate on the mission to sort ourselves out, to try to pay it all off ASAP, so I'm hoping YNAB will engage him and encourage some sort of activity, as it's really hard work trying to have the enthusiasm for both of us.Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Hi Daisy
If your OH is anything like mine, YNAB has been a total game changer. He is SO on board now, and really shares the load. We are now team mates to be MF and to not spend more than we earn, and to spend thoughtfully, at all times...it's great.
So am cheering you on your way! Here's to Wednesday :beer:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Oh that's good to know Brizzle - thanks for sharing!
He was on board when we had a little stab at it a couple of months ago, so fingers crossed..... Team mates is exactly what I want us to be - the same dream team we were when we were racking up all this debt! :rotfl:
So YNAB is all good to go, starting balances before today's wage in, no cards used today which would confuse things, just last months cash remnants. So it all starts tomorrow!! I'm meeting with DH, as long as the littlies sleep, it's never a guarantee
I had a lovely day today, I met up with a friend who has just had a much long for second baby, and we ate all the cheeses and meats you can't eat when you're preggers, heaven!! That was my last luxury spend I've decided, from tomorrow I'm going hardcore
This will mean loooong hours in the kitchen and on the laptop, but I just have to do it. Here goes nothing....... Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
V quick update as I need to sleeeeeeeeep.......
Had a great 'meeting' with DH last night about The Debt. He is totally on board with YNAB, although I don't think we're fully there with understanding it. We'll get there though, and the will to do it is the important bit. He also checked out our gas and electric supplier (it's a joint tariff), and sorted out a £46 reduction in our monthly dd, along with a request for a rebate of our credit which is just over £200. :j he also cancelled his £vernote subscription, which is only £4pm but still better than nothing, and this along with him cancelling Sky tv last week means he's bagged us an extra £75pm :T:T:T:T:T Mr Star officially rocks!! He's promised me he's part of the dream team again and will do whatever it takes to sort this mess
Meal plan done, shopping to be done tomorrow when Toddler Star is at nursery. I concocted some bizarre creations to get us through the day today but my guzzlers ate everything so all good
I heard voices of doom saying it was the last day of lovely weather round these parts today, so I sacked off toddler group (indoors and £1.50) and joined a friend and her kiddles for some leaf kicking in our beautiful local wood, we were soaking up the sun and it was gorgeous. And free!!
Right, I really want to catch up with diaries but I'm just sooooooo tired so it'll have to be another night. Film Friday tomorrow, DH's choice this week ;) Night all!Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Ooh so much for posting every day!! I have been prioritising sleep this week as it's been quite hard to come by
DH has been away a few nights too which always makes the evenings a bit more exhausting with my Tasmanian devils!!
So what's new? Well, we're all up in the air about the house, we are in the process of swapping agents, but on getting an agent in today to value it again he gave us a figure that's below our current mortgage, let along what we paid for it  So as well as being gutted and a bit heartbroken, we are now totally confused. However, we do like a plan and they can't keep us down for long, so we retreated to lick our wounds tonight and have decided to withdraw from the market for 6 months. This takes us into the good months of spring for selling if we do then go for it, and we have decided to batten down the hatches and go for it like we've never gone for it before with the debt-busting. Aaa argh it's never ending!!
I'm so gutted as our house is just not working with kids, but the priority is the debt then the next steps in the dream (I've not forgotten about the ski lodge
) can happen.
So, what else? Meal plan going according to plan, and the freezer is filling up nicely for the month.
I've decided to drop one of the toddler groups we go to as toddler star just wasn't himself there. I enjoyed seeing people but it's just not worth it if he's not happy. So saving £1.50pw - not much but better than nothing
Filled the car up at the start of the month, we've budgeted for one tank of diesel per month so I'm considering all journeys very carefully. Quarter of a tank gone on a trip to grandmas - totally worth it
Still haven't looked into replacement washing power, I must add this to my list.
Right, enough rambling, I'm a bit cross-eyed again so it must be times for sleeeeeeeepps (now, if someone could tell my children this I'd be delighted :rotfl:)

Evening all! I'm still trying to post more often but I'm getting VERY little sleep at the moment so I'm using any precious spare second for a. Debt-busting activities and b. eating cake and drinking tea
So forgive me.
YNAB is going really well, with DH firmly on board. It is sooooooo complex with us tho, with different accounts, expenses, incomes all over the place that we just can't keep track of the account balances and are still logging into online banking for that. The budget section is blimmin marvellous though, I LOVE it!!
Right, off to bed as I'm a bit cross-eyed with fatigue
Love the little monkeys though, they're scrummy!!
Night all
