No, you're not bonkers, like you said previously once (I think), you've been in a difficult situation before and you never want to be in that position again, so it is understandable. Besides, all this batch cooking and freezing stuff saves a fortune and ensures you both eat well, so that's a win all round!

Lovely you were able to donate to the food bank too, I need to sort some tins from my bulging cupboard as there's way too much for DS and I to use.

Hope you have a good week

  • Good luck with sorting your tin cupboard MeandO!!

Manic day today...I’ve been organising a charity evening in memory of a friend and colleague...we’ve sold nearly all the tickets and it looks like it’s going to be a good night! They say if you want something done ask a busy person and I’m certainly that!
DS’ headmistress also asked me to help raise £50,000 for new floodlights for school and the community...I think the way to do it is to sell commemorative carved tiles to do on the sport ground wall for families and individuals to buy...at £50 each its a permanent memorial in our village ....
I’ll keep you all posted as to whether it works!!

  • There was only me here last night so I had egg and chips..absolutely lush!!
Then I walked the dog and had a binge watch of rubbish TV! Yes there’s a stack of ironing...do I care? Not really! Sometimes you just need to chill and I’m still getting over this lurgy!
Not very MSE this week...it’s my best friends big birthday in February and she treated me last year for mine so I’ve bought us theatre tickets to Miss Saigon ...it was v expensive but it’s within budget...shes thrilled!

  • Yes she was...she’s had a tough year too so it’s something to look forward to...
So...this week has been busy as always
Grounded DS for messing about in school, had my hair cut and coloured (on a budget of course at £40), lost one of my nails so managed to fix it myself with nail glue (free!), and went to a party last night (til 2am...I just get a bit carried away) which cost me a gift and £8 in Diet Coke! Awesome party ...I danced my stilettos off!
I was hoping to die in a corner today but then I had to get up to get our Peter Kay tickets (and was lucky enough to get them!) and then go and meet clients! Luckily the meeting was in a coffee shop so I was able to glug coffee and look awake!
I’m off now to iron the uniforms and get ready for I’m a celeb!! It’s one of my fave programmes!!

  • Wow...what a wuss Amir Khan was last night!!

In other MSE news...I’m 5 surveys away from my Yougov payout! I’ve finished my Xmas shopping and have £100 Mr T vouchers left for the food
It’s tilly tidy day today so I’m going to do that
On the negative...my dishwasher needs an engineer as it’s not draining and I’ve followed every tip on line but it’s not working!

  • Busy week again this week...the dishwasher cost a flipping fortune to sort out and has meant I haven’t been able to make an extra OP this month ...I’m gutted but hey ho! Back to it next month

Had a nice day wandering round the shops with DS yesterday and then some friends popped in for a cuppa in the evening

It’s going to be a housework, dog walking and ironing kinda day today...I want to catch up on it all, I’m so behind!!
