  • Fab night out with friends watching a band last night as DS went to his dads..I didn’t drink and spent the grand total of £10! Bargain!
I didn’t get home til 1.30 but I am up relatively bright eyed and bushy tailed to go to work this morning ...i’ll be finished by 1 and then I’m taking DS to an open air cinema! It’s going to be freezing but it’s his all time favourite film and it was £5 each!

  • I’m full of maternal guilt about how hard I work and that I miss out on time with DS so I took him for a pizza for lunch yesterday...we had some money off so it was £20! Bargain (love a voucher!)
Then we went to the open air cinema and had hot chocolate and a bag of chips on the way home ...the whole day including lunch and the cinema was £38 which wasn’t bad! He had a great time and I don’t feel so bad about only having Friday off in half term...

  • So it’s another payday and another OP! I’ve altered my signature and I only have another £370 to go until we’re at £147,000 ...I fully intend to achieve that at Xmas..
I was given another freezer this week so I did a huge monthly shop yesterday and spent £160...i’ll need to buy fresh topups for around £10 per week but I can batch cook even more this month with all that freezer space!
I’ve got chilli and rice, veggie shepherds pie, veggie lasagne and chicken curry and rice to batch cook this month so that’s 16 meals..both freezers will be full, the cupboards are full and so is my overflow pantry in my home office! Let’s hope DS doesn’t see it as a competition to eat it all!!!!

  • Really busy day today...it was a nearly a NSD but I ended up with extra appointments so I had to buy myself a drink..
Made potato croquettes with the left over mash and breadcrumbs from
The crusts in the freezer...they came out really well and I got 8 in total..they’ll be tucked away for another meal...
Nearly time for The Apprentice and a peaceful family evening..

  • Busy day again yesterday... we’re in the middle of organising a charity fundraiser for a colleague that passed away in my previous life so things are a bit manic at the moment!
I did a quick tilly tidy yesterday with my cashback from my bank account, another £7 off the Mortgage
I’m taking DS out today as it’s half term for breakfast and shopping..definitely not a NSD!!

  • Aw thanks MeandO...it was lovely! We had breakfast and a wander around the big city! DS has his hair cut and I bought him some clothes...definitely not a NSD but 2 tops went away for Christmas which is great...I’ve pretty much got his stocking fillers and I just need to buy his main gift now...

He’s off to his dads today and I’m going to a surprise party tonight so I’m hoping to have my hair cut today and blitz the house...

We had an awesome time at my neighbours surprise 60th party...we had an after party at my other neighbours and I rolled home at 1am!! My head is banging this morning...I’m on my second coffee and several pieces of hot buttered toast!!!!
I spent £8 last night as it was in the village hall and really cheap!!

I need about £10 of fresh food shopping but that’s it..I’m definitely going to do this big monthly shop again...much cheaper! I only need yogurt, fruit and veggies today

This weeks meals are: stir fry (from frozen stock), fajitas, curry, pasta bake, pizza, roast dinner and fish and chips..the fajitas, stir fry and curries are batch cooked and in the freezer, I’ve got frozen fish (and veggie alternative), Yorkshire puds, and i’ll Make the pizzas from scratch on Saturday night

  • Wow it’s been a busy week..we are still merrily munching our way through the freezer and stockpile! I will need to buy £10 of fresh again tomorrow though...
Some minor tilly tidies done, I’m waiting for my payouts from yougov and TCB and my big OP goes out on Wednesday...I’m confident i’ll have paid off another brick by the end of the year!

I took DS to the electric carnival in Weston Super Mare last night...do go if you get the chance...it was brilliant! All for the price of fish n chips and the car park!

  • It’s been a housework kinda day today...so boring but necessary!

I had my letter saying my mortgage is going up by £20 a month from December...I’m going to try and stick to the same OPs rather than absorb it so stretch my budget by another £20...it should be pretty unnoticeable...

Spent £18 on my top up shop today but I ‘needed’ Diet Coke...a big pack lasts us 2 weeks and a can a day is my guilty pleasure! I also bought OJ, fruit and veg and milk..

One of our customers left a stack of in date tins so I gave most to the food bank (there but for the grace of god go any of us) but kept 12 useful ones for us: chopped tomatoes, beans, etc...my pantry is always full but even more so now...my friends think im mad with 2 full freezers too but I have a terrible fear of us starving!! Am I bonkers? Probably!!
