Morning MeandO
We live in South Wales and are very fortunate to do so: it's a friendly place with naturally friendly people!
I had late appointments last night and didn't get home til 7 and DS had heated up another chilli and was scoffing it with oven chips and rice...so I think we're safe! Lol!
So...I chatted to DS and worked for a bit finishing emails etc when I got home and then he wandered to watch YouTube..he came charging downstairs as there was a hornet in his bedroom...and when I went up...it was huge!!!! He said 'kill it' and I just can't...I'm a veggie!! So I asked him to go downstairs and get a cup for me to catch it in and after coming back with a massive jug and a lunchbox, he eventually bought the cup (how hard is it to get a cup?????!!) ...there was a lot of girly squealing from me but after 5 attempts I got it in the cup and out of the window!! Then I noticed there was a really strong smell in DS' room...I asked him what it was and he said he'd been spraying deodorant on the hornet to kill it!! Omg!!!
So I'm off to my Saturday morning appointments shortly ...I normally try and have a day off in the week but I haven't been able to as the business has been so busy!!! But...we did manage to find return flights to Italy in the easyjet sale and I'm able to take out the first lot of initial investment cash in the business so we will have an extra treat next year!
My big OP went out on Friday so I'll be able to update my signature next week!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

erm... me too... are you my neighbour?! lol!
I love this area to be honest and do regard it as my home now (I'm not from here originally), but I think I just moved to a street of grumpy people or something as no-one ever seems to smile or say hello!
OMG, you're braver than me with the hornet. I would've freaked out and called someone - no idea who - but someone! I'm getting more and more used to getting ride of the big spiders that venture in now, but I still have to build myself up to it. Sometimes I 'save' them under a glass until OH comes round to visit - what a lovely little present for him!
Italy sounds wonderful, I've never been, but always wanted to. Will be lovely to have that to look forward to.
Well I hope you're in a warmer, dryer part of the region than I am, storm 'Brian' is battering us today, despite sounding less than threatening with a name like that!

Hope Brian didn't do you any damage honey!
We've had a busy day...I've been moving furniture round revamping the home office and conservatory and it looks much better and is a better use of space. I bought a new TV (in budget of course!) for the living room and ours can then go in the conservatory which is part family room/part dining room and we will hopefully use it more....it's too easy to grab tea on our laps and not bother with the dining table if it's just the two of us!
We've just demolished a sausage roast dinner (I had nut roast) with stuffing, roast parsnips, roast and mash spuds, Yorkshires, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots...I've also got a red pepper and butternut squash soup in the slow cooker as I'm working on a late appointment tomorrow and DS can have a bowl or three before I come home and feed him!
The cat and I are catching up on Gunpowder now ...it's really good if a bit gruesome for my taste...DS is avoiding homework but I'm on it!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Thankfully Brian caused no damage, and enforced quite a nice relaxed day in!
Ooooh, I love moving furniture around. It is one of my weird obsessions, although I tend to start on it late at night and forget when I come downstairs in the morning and initially wonder where the sofa/table/chair has moved to! :rotfl:It's always nice to have a change of space though.
Jealous of your lunch... such a shame you don't live closer!:rotfl:
Hope you have a good week hun xMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

Aw I'm glad you survived Brian! Lol...if you lived closer I'm sure there'd be an invite for my Sunday lunch although I'm no Gordon Ramsey!
My big monthly OP went out this week so I've been able to change my signature again! I've tilly tidied my account again this week and that will probably be my last OP of October...I'm on track to have paid another £453 by Xmas too...I look at it that I have 147 bricks left (at £1000 per brick) so that's another brick gone by Xmas...much less scary that way!! My payments have dropped by £2 per month due to paying some of the capital off so I've upped my OP to another £2 per month! Every little helps...
Working from home today until 4 (first appointment) so I'm catching up on stacks of admin and filing and waiting for the new TV(my friends couldn't believe that I haven't had a new TV for 10 years...mine works fine and it's a bit extravagant to buy a second for the conservatory really!)Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

So the new TV came...it’s lovely to sit in the conservatory and watch it...we were hardly using that room at all...
So made 2 lots of fajitas...one with chicken and peppers for DS and a veggie one with baby corn, green beans, kidney beans and peppers for me...enough for tomorrow too!
I’m finishing off some admin and emails tonight ...we had the usual row over homework and I ended up threatening grounding! It’s ridiculous...he argues every night but I’m not giving in! He’s doing it ...
Not very MSE today...ended up with extra appointments so had to buy lunch out as I left the home office at 9.30 and got back at 5!! I was only supposed to be out for 3 hours! I’ll never moan about work though...it’s paying those bills!
The Apprentice tonight ...the twitter comments are hilarious every week!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

So...I'm a member of quite a few money saving pages on the book of face and there was a query yesterday from a young lady who said she was renting a flat and was stuck in a rental trap unable to save for a mortgage and asking for advice..
So I suggested that she move to a shared house for a few months and pay a much cheaper rent, get a second job and work in a bar or something ...I explained these were all things I had done when I was her age to buy my first house and her reply was that it wasn't safe to live in a shared house and that she had a life and couldn't be expected to work 2 jobs and be tired and not be able to go out! I pointed out that it was just short term and I had done all these things and lived to tell the tale and she said I was a sad case with no life...or words to that effect! Charming!
I'm so glad we have this wonderful support on here from like minded people!
Don't worry about it, she's clearly not grasped the concept of what is a sad life. I used to think going out drinking etc, spending all my money and money I didn't have was great but I am much happier now I am financially sound and looking to be mortgage neutral.
It could just be an age thing.....but no need to have been disrespectful to you.
Just think, you'll be mortgage free and she'll be paying someone else's mortgage......that really is the 'sad' truth !Mortgage When Started Over Pay 01/11/2017- £146,500

Another busy day...client meeting first thing and they very kindly bought me coffee and toast for all the work I’d done for them..
Another meeting after and then I spent the rest of the day doing admin...yawn!
I had the leftover fajitas for dinner and made DS one of the batch cooked chillis from the freezer...easy peasy!
My only spend today was petrol and another big pack of Diet Coke...I love it!! I could happily give up alcohol but never coke, tea and coffee!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)
