So busy busy day at work ...meeting with a potential new staff member cost me a latte and a tea but she's going to be great! I'm so pleased she wants to come on board!
Took DS (13 year old) into town after school so he could bank the pocket money he'd saved...such a good kid with money!
I bought him a hot chocolate but I didn't want anything so I emptied my coins into my tin 72p to go off the mortgage! Every little helps...
Made a reasonably priced dinner of baked potatoes, corn on the cob and garlic chicken breast (bought in a £10 bag from the local butchers) ...I could get away without food shopping on Sunday but I'll do a little fresh shop ...I can't not have fresh fruit!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

I've been reading other people's diaries and have been inspired by overpayment addict! Go girl!!
So I remembered my top cash back account and withdraw £1.78, did a tilly tidy straight on to the mortgage £1.67 and logged into my yougov account ...I'm just 26 surveys away from £50 so I'll be checking that daily too! I need to explore fleabay now in more depth !!
My overpayments this month so far are £231.88 and I'm hoping to squeeze some more in next week!
DS has decided he doesn't want school dinners anymore so I'm hoping that it will be a bit cheaper to take lunch...it's currently £15 a week...I don't know how long he'll last on take your own lunches though!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

Good and bad spending day today: DS music tuition £126 for the term! Ouch! Xmas do and hotel stay £75 double ouch!! (But both of these have come from my monthly budget and I still have £140 left!)
But I really miss my old colleagues 2 of whom are my best friends and my little business is too small for a Xmas do so I'll just buy my freelancers lunch!
Changed my old life insurance and phone/broadband supplier over with TCB as both were well overdue...£180 now in my account waiting for cash out in a few months...a landlord asked me to buy a new washing machine for one of the rentals ..another £10 in the TCB account...
I desperately need a new work coat that's smart as I'm out meeting customers all the time...I'm going to try a few on tomorrow in the city centre...I love shopping but I will need to be disciplined!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

So plans today...no viewings yay! A little bit of work from home for a couple of hours and then I'm done!
I've got carrots languishing in the fridge so I'm going to make jack monroe's carrot and cumin burgers and freeze them...have everything I need to make them already here and it will use up my onions and carrots..
I also have 2 peppers left so I will slice them and freeze them for fajitas or stir fry next week.
I'm going to Potter into the city centre and buy my new coat...it gets v cold in South Wales so I will need it...got a budget of £65 but cheaper would be good ...it has to look smart though as I need to look professional..most of my dresses come from next clearance but it's hard to find a coat in there in season...
I've got loads of housework to do, loads of ironing to do and the dog will want a good walk so that will keep me busy today!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

I've been catching up with other diaries and I'm really sorry to see how many of you are in the same boat as me with affordability checks and being unable to switch!
I'm on an IO mortgage and I can't get on to a repayment: it's £375 pcm and I pay £600 on a direct debit which they told me was the equivalent of a repayment amount and then everything else as an extra overpayment..it requires a huge amount of self control on the part of the person with the mortgage to keep those overpayments up though!! And they keep writing to me asking me what I'm going to do when the term is up to pay the balance!!! So my best option is to keep overpaying, get it down and revisit my options then! It really doesn't make sense that I'm regularly paying much more and I can't switch!!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

So today..I spent £8 in the supermarket as DS has decided he no longer wants school dinners...I doubt it will last long but I've saved £7 which will be OPd this week...
I just spent the last 20 mins slicing and prepping peppers that were left over from this weeks shopping to freeze them so I can use them for stuffed peppers and fajitas in October...I should only need a bit of fresh fruit and veg this week from our local greengrocer as the freezer is full and we have loads of cheese, ham etc...I freeze my bread too so I have 2 sliced loaves, 15 rolls and a pack of hot cross buns in there at the mo...always buy it reduced...we soon scoff it and it keeps for months in the freezer.
I have 30 meals in there too including all my batch cooked stuff so we have enough to keep us going!
I was a bit naughty last night and splurged £38 on 2 figurines that i collect on fleabay but they are £50+ each new and I love them...I've got some stuff to take to cash for clothes tomorrow and my own stuff listed for sale on fleabay so I'm hoping it balances out...I feel ridiculously guilty though!!
DS managed to split a pair of his tracksuit bottoms too ...god knows how so I need to buy a new pair on payday ...his last pair were labels and £20 but lasted a whole year so I'll invest in another similar pair....Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)

So £10.75 from cash for clothes, and £5 left in my purse should take us up til payday...that gives me £82 left in my account to pay off my holiday...
I had a bit of a mare in the bank today trying to put money in to OP...the machine froze, ate my money and then didn't find it and didn't credit it! It took half an hour to sort out so they credited me £30 as an apology which I've just paid off my holiday!
I put all my small change in as the last OP of the month so I should have my grand OP total by Wednesday for the month which is very exciting!!
And possibly makes me slightly obsessive!!
Just defrosted some sausages for DS for dinner ...I'm going to have egg and chips! Yum!Original mortgage £154,850 (2013)
