I'm not in debt (never have been). And it's thanks (in large part!) to the very sensible advice I've received here over the past 5 years since moving out of my parents house.
I haven't received this offer from Tescos. Probably because I don't spend enough! £30 a week is a big spend for me.Because it's fun to have money!
£0/£70 August GC
£68.35/£70 July GC
January-June 2019 = £356.94/£4200 -
I'll also add that I doubt many people are in debt due to not shopping around, especially when it comes to food shopping!
Without wishing to bang on about it, here is a snippet of a post made today on the Debt-free Wannabe board...
"My debts are spiralling out of control and I need to stop now before anything happens.
My partner thinks they are about £2,500 but they are about 6x that : (
They have built up from every day expenses as I don't drink, smoke or go out. It's just paying for every day expenses like food and petrol and I have been covering all this by myself and not asking my husband for help."
Which is an example among many others I could give as to why I think this statement is totally wrong.
Anyways, apologies to all for going "off topic"(though I don't think it is). As you were...0 -
*ignoring the above post*
I didn't get the offer you lot did from Tesco but did get an email stating if I do two £40 online shops from last weekend until 17th November I'll get a code for £20 off my next shop.Worked out quite well
Had this week's delivered already and used a £4 off voucher. Will use another one I have next week, then use the £20 off and a £3 off voucher I have after that. Can't complain!
Especially when I also have £15 in Morrisons vouchers, for the cost of £1 (!) on their way too.

My average weekly spend is around £90, so for an extra £20 or so I'll qualify. My plan was to add bits to squirrel away for Christmas each week from now on anyway - booze, Christmas pudding, nibbles, etc, so it works out perfectly for me. My card states 'Excludes purchases from Tesco Direct and fuel' - no other exemptions mentioned.
What does everyone think about the fact that no other purchases are excluded apart from Tesco direct and fuel? I had a brainwave that if I bumped up my weekly shop with Tesco gift cards then this could count towards my weekly spend. I asked via Tesco fb page and was told gift cards excluded, but am I missing something here because i've not seen any terms that states that. I'm tempted to do this anyway and argue it with them later if they don't send my voucher.
Did anyone else think about doin this?0 -

Or, you may have a Tesco Credit Card - which you pay with, so they won't quote the credit card no., but the Club Card No., on the Credit Card - down the bottom by your name.

Correct; it took me some time to realise that, as that was the one on the offer I got (£50x4 for£25)!0 -

I, too, scoured the small print to check that purchases from the In-store Pharmacy weren't excluded ... I shall be very annoyed if I find that this is the case, and will be ready for an argument with them ...
Me too; have been buying (in store) Google Play giftcards for grandkids Christmas pressies, and will be really ready for an argument if they don't count 'cause there are no T&Cs anywhere which say that!!0 -
I have received a 'Spend £90 per week for 4 weeks to get £45 off'
I seem to be on track in regards to receiving my £45 voucher the week commencing 16th December :T!!
HOWEVER...it says on the letter, these vouchers will be sent out the week commencing 16th December and will 'stipulate a redemption date'
Don't suppose anyone knows whether once the voucher is received we will be able to use them straight away?!?
I am planning to get a last few xmas presents with it and don't want to end up finding out I can't use the voucher until the new year :mad:0 -

The way I read the full "blurb" as well as the T&Cs, such as they are, is that you will be able to use the voucher in the run up to Christmas. My own opinion only, redemption will probably have to be by the end of this year.
The whole thing seems to be geared to maximising sales pre Christmas, and thus achieving a good set of results for the festive period.0 -

The envelope the offer came in states '...earn a £## bonus coupon in time for Christmas', and the card inside 'we will send you a £## money-off bonus coupon in time for Christmas' & '...receive a bonus coupon when you spend £## or more in December', so you will be able to use your voucher before Christmas, more than likely from the time of receipt.0
