Mine is spend £60 per week for 4 weeks to get £30 off a £60 shop in mid December . I've looked throughout the handout and I don't think it has to be just food. I'm hoping to buy afew Christmas presents to get it up to £60 as I usually only spend £20 at Mr T.
My secret fantasy is having 2 men....
    1 cooking and 1 cleaning.

Yes, I understand what you're getting at, yet some people as well as the normal shopping - may have lists of presents to get e.g. ipads, kindles, bikes etc - so it will give an opportunity to participate in this.

I doubt if I will, already stocked up!!

Well, sure, but anyone using those vouchers only really saved about 10% to spend on presents - I will have saved more over the next 4 weeks just by savvy shopping.

And that same person will have to buy those presents in the same shop for whatever price they're being sold for. I will buy wherever is cheapest.

I'm not trying to be an argumentative ****. Honest. I just wish people would think a bit more about their spending. Both for their own good and also so that Great Britain isn't eventually owned by frickin' Tesco. (Or Sainsbury's).
  • I had spend £150 a week I have only ever spent that amount the very odd times in Tesco in a week so I would have to spend an extra £250 to get my £75 off I dont think so

To be honest, most people have better things to do with their time than going to several shops (which I'll add costs money itself).

Same here. (I hadn't posted because I didn't want to be argumentative!) Yes I'll have to spend a bit more than our usual weekly shopping total but I'll be buying stuff that I would have bought closer to Christmas anyway (like alcohol, chocolates, toys). I'd love to have the time and freedom to spread my shopping around 6 different supermarkets ;)

It depends where you live and how you shop. Not everyone drives to an out of town supermarket, strategically sited just close enough for you to get there, but far enough away from other stores to discourage you from going to more than one.

Many people live in towns and cities where they have several supermarkets within walking distance of their home, or from where they get out of their car/off the bus when they get to town.

Some of us are lucky enough to live in very small towns in the country where shopping is a joy. Personally, since I moved to Dorset, shopping is a true pleasure.

The supermarkets are all over the place here. The only ones in town are a small sainsburys, small iceland and tesco metro.Everything else is out of town and scattered.

Even if they were close together I can think of nothing worse than shopping around.

Food shopping is never exactly enjoyable anyway though!

Ps I think you mean streets rather than towns or cities.I have an image of whole towns with supermarkets on every corner now :)

Not seen the letter but I'm guessing it will have the usual exclusions, gift cards, cigs, baby milk powder, prescriptions, lottery, fuel etc.

  • Well I'm very pleased with the offer - I have to spend £110 for the next 4 weeks to get a £60 coupon. My average weekly spend is around £90, so for an extra £20 or so I'll qualify. My plan was to add bits to squirrel away for Christmas each week from now on anyway - booze, Christmas pudding, nibbles, etc, so it works out perfectly for me. My card states 'Excludes purchases from Tesco Direct and fuel' - no other exemptions mentioned.
