Pre-production maybe. I've sat in one and the interior looks and feels no worse than anything from Ford or VW. It's a lot of car for the money, but probably quite expensive if you do huge miles.

Going by reviews it seems the MG6 interior is made from all the leftover plastic toys that Kellogg's no longer put in our cereal boxes.

At those prices you could go old fashioned.
Buy two and keep one as spares. :p

Thats completely at odds with any reviews i've read about the cars.

I would check myself but noone took on the franchise here in northern ireland. Well somebody did but they closed in about 6 months.

There's a dealer not too far from me so I might pop up and see what's what.

Just noticed they have an option to bring the car to you for a test drive. Sounds a little desperate.

You have to do the maths with Dacia, everything's an option.

The old dilemma though - new dynamically weak budget car or year old mainstream brand dynamically strong car.

Also, dont forget the Sandero is a Fiesta sized car, so might not suit the O/Ps needs.

Yeah the majority of the professional reviews I've read don't seem to have much correlation with those reviews from actual owners, to the point where I'm not sure the pro reviewers have even been in said cars and aren't just copying previous reviews. Given that some of the review sites (like whatcar) still have old specs for the cars (emissions dropped by a band after the first year).

Maybe I'm just not as obsessed with soft-touch plastics and the like, and biased as I currently drive it's predecessor, but I had a good poke about one (haven't driven it) shortly followed by a top spec. Focus estate, and in all honesty there's no way I'd chose the Focus over the MG6; It was just cluttered and cramped.

In fact, the SE hatchback is on my short-list for my next car (along side the Skoda Yeti and Dacia Duster).

The issue that i have with What Car over the last few years is the VAG Group love in that appears to be going on.

They have never mentioned in any signifiwlant way the constant problems that the 2.0 diesel lump has generated.

Wether it be cracked sumps on one or two yr old Audis or oil pump issues.

But the smallest issue with a Rover or Jaguar Land Rover product and they seem to be all over it.

I would think the product is better thsn we are led to believe by the current crop of middle class motoring journalist.

If you read their long term reports you suddenly realise that they don't know that much about cars in general and that they adopt an open cheque book approach to running a vehicle.

I will take a look at the new little MG as the wifes Clio is set to go within the next year.

It is certainly a decent looking little car.

    Will report back.

Would be nice to have both cars in the family with old school british names for once.
