We are looking to change our car but want to get something affordable. Ideally the car will be a small to mid size hatch back, be no more than 2 years old and economical, any suggestions? Thanks

12 plate hatchbacks under £10k you're looking at very low end model I think. If you want something decent under 10K you're going to have to be willing to get something 4 years old.0

What's the likely annual mileage and what sort of trips will you be making?
Are you just worried about economy or are looks, performance etc. important?
I'd suggest getting a car that is more than two years old if you are trying to save money.
Based on the little to no info. so far, how about a petrol Honda Jazz?0 -

If you use Drive the Deal you can get a brand new Fiesta for £11k or so with brand new Focus not much different.
11 plate Fiesta at the supermarkets start at just under £7k
Car supermarkets are full to bursting with stuff like the OP wants.
There is a 61 plate Focus for under £9k at CarGiant.
All the supermarkets have similar
I would spend another thousand and get a brand new one from DtD or any other similar site, somebody mentioned Happy New Car here a few days ago.0 -

Small hatch, look at a new i10, well under your budget and if you can wait till Dec when the new model hits there will be bargains to be had on the current model. I'm happy with mine, had it 3 years, has a 5 year warranty.0
