Hi Moomin,
January is such a long month. I knew it would be because of early pay day in Dec so I shouldn't be surprised but I always am0 -

It hasn't been as painful as it could have been, but it's not been fun. On the bright side, February and March are the no council tax months, so that gives me some breathing room again0 -

:j:j PAYDAY!!! :j:j
It's finally here :rotfl::rotfl:
I've done all my budgeting, and things are looking good for the month. The new kitchen is going to get put in this month (eek!) so there will be spending for that, but that's coming from my savings.
I'd share the figures, but it's all budgeted as February so I can't see it on the YNAB app - I'll need to do it when I get home!0 -

February! (How?!)
Anyway, new month, new budget:
Spending money: £89
Food: £225
Fuel: £90
Clothes: £45
Haircut: £45
Entertainment: £54.50
Car: £426.94
Headlines from the above:
Food is higher than normal because Mr Mooo made a donation to the food budget. This means I can't say no when he demands branded food :rotfl: Also, the kitchen refurbishment starts in three weeks :eek: and we'll have no cooking facilities so will end up with takeaways I think.
Fuel is higher than normal because last month I bought practically none. I'm leaving it high in case we go on a trip after the kitchen is done to destress :rotfl:
Clothes and haircut are cumulative from last month. I'm getting my hair cut on Friday and am Very Excited about it.
The car budget is all that's in my car account. I'm pretty sure it's insurance month so that'll be going soon...0 -

I've had mixed success with Groupon. Some have been great (and I've gone back more than once to pay full price) and others not so good.
Aim for city centre, as those salons have a lot to lose by bad reviews, even if it's from Groupons.0 -

I got a Groupon (or might have been ITISON) for Little Miss Gap last year (sorry, not very helpful) at Saks in Jeffrey Street. They made a brilliant job of her hair (long - to the middle of her back), the voucher was about £18 I think. Wash, cut and blowdry. Also, my current hairdresser (own business) was trained there.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
