No meal plan for the week yet, budget still to be done and Nectar to be checked.

    Am slacking this morning ;)

    Nectar balance - 9465 points / £47.33 :j

    Meal plan:

Today - freezer surprise. It's red and in a takeaway box so it's chilli or spaghetti sauce :D
    Tuesday - Roast chicken
    Wednesday - Jambalaya
Thursday - Pasta and some kind of sauce with leftover chicken :D
    Friday - Mince and tatties
Saturday - Gammon egg and chips

Eight days left in the month and £42 left in the food budget, so I'm fairly happy with that...

    Happy Mondays to all :D

The meal plan has already gone to pot today :rotfl:

We're going to head to Ikea after work to arrange a new mattress (and, if I have my way, a new bed with lovely storage!) and to pass by Costco as they have Yorkshire Tea on offer.

Having all this planned meant I didn't really have time to do the roast dinner, so I've taken some chicken out and we'll do jambalaya instead. I'll have a wee think about what we'll do tomorrow instead. I might just make some pasta sauce up and have some tortellini as we have loads in the freezer and I need to make some space!

In other news, it looks like I'm off back to the Middle East for my holidays in February. I still have to book flights (looking for the best cashback offers, of course!) but at least this time I don't have the expense of a passport to worry about. It'll be all hands to the frugal pump for the next few months now to try and find some spending money :D
  • all hands to the frugal pump for the next few months - love it.

My meal plan went boobs up yesterday.

    I only wrote it yesterday.

    Hangs head in shame.

Enjoy the swedish shop. There's a bonny wrought iron white bed (don't make a face) there that's gorgeous and has my name on it.

Give it a hello for me, once I've saved its mine.

    £80 to find..........
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

I've seen that bed, and it's lovely :D I suspect it's a bit Bedknobs and Broomsticks for Mr Mooo though. He's not keen on getting a bed with drawers, thinking they're for the auld yins, but I don't want to have to hoover under the bed and as the One Who Wields The Hoover I plan on having the final say ;)

We really aren't using our telly much at all now. I have a TiVO box with Virgin but don't often watch what I've taped and the only thing recently that I've watched has been Bake Off in terms of things worth my TV licence.

I'd love to cancel and just have Netflix, but I'm pretty sure that when we changed our broadband we locked ourselves in for another blooming year. Shame really as we don't use the telly stuff or the phone...

In better news, ten minutes online has just saved me £92.76 a year on my home insurance  I hummed and hawed about needing accidental damage cover but decided against it - pretty much guaranteeing I'm going to paint my carpet or something :rotfl: I should also get £20.20 cashback eventually, so that was definitely worth doing.
Just wandering out of lurkdom to let you know that I'd recently upgraded my TiVo box with Virgin Media. I signed up for 18 or 24 months (although have been a long term overall customer with them). I called them about 5 months in and told them I wanted broadband only and they didn't even question it. They sorted it with no issues at all which reduced my bill considerably. I genuinely don't miss having the TV channels, especially as I have Lovefilm. It's worth a call to them.

We went bed shopping last night and ended up with a Bedknobs and Broomsticks one :D It was actually Mr Mooo's suggestion as he hated the ones with built-in storage, so we've bought this and next time I'm there I'll get some storage boxes to go underneath it. It's getting delivered next weekend along with our new mattress, so that gives me just over a week to figure out how to get a king-sized mattress to the tip in a Fiat 500  :rotfl:

I love me a new bed!

Just a thought, as I think you have mentioned before that you don't have much storage - is there anywhere else at all that you can put stuff, other than under the bed? When we got our new bed (about 8 years ago, maybe I need to think about a new mattress?!), we didn't put any junk back under it and it is much easier to keep clean - quick hoover to get any dust of the flor and you're done, storage boxes are dust magnets! :)

Does your council do a bulky rubbish collection for the mattress? Might be worth asking if you're not sure...

    Happy hump day! X ttb

Bed sounds fab, love that style too. Spare room here got an Ottoman lift up storage bed in faux brown leather, but with it being for nephew (staying regularly from next week) he got to choose and brother paid for it! Result on no outlay or hoovering underneath. :D

No ideas on mattress in (on?) your car! Anywhere doing free delivery or those vacuum packed ones might be the answer?
