I'm doing Race For Life on Sunday

I'm a little scared but I've raised £250 so quite proud. Walking the 10k not running though :rotfl:
  • Goodluck!

I'd be walking it too :)

Hi Moomin, enjoy the race on Sunday. I've done the Belfast one and it is one of the best for the atmosphere and lots and lots of pink:D.

I'm not really a fan of pink to be honest - I'll be in my normal clothes I think!

So, another week has gone past. One thing that's annoyed me this morning is that I didn't realise that verifying my bank account with PayPal would make my current account my default method of payment. I always use my credit card with PayPal so that I can earn tesco points, and had made a purchase of about £25 the other day. I paid it off my credit card right away so was shocked when it came from my bank account this morning too  I must be more careful in future. I'm going to have to leave my credit card alone for a few days until all the transactions go through and I can figure out what's going on :o

Not a lot planned for today apart from a visit to the shops to get our groceries for the coming week. With 16 days left of the month I have £80 left in the food account so that's pretty good. We don't need loads of stuff either so I'm going to get a three for a tenner meat deal as well and add some more supplies to the freezer.

    Have a lovely Saturday everyone!

Ooft - £32.76 later and the shopping is done

This does include some stuff we don't need all the time - drain unblocker, binbags and safety pins, but it's still at least a fiver more than I wanted to spend. It'll be a frugal remainder of the month in Chateau Mooo at this rate :rotfl:

The new total for the month is £101.87/£150
  • Oh the scale of spending whilst you might not be very happy its a goodly amazingly wee amount that you target each month for household grub etc and you're doing grand.

But i do know what you mean. Topping up 'essentials' hurts a bit.

    :D

    Have a good un.

I do ok with my budget but sometimes it's hard. I now have £24 per week for the next two weeks. Totally doable.

    Here follows the mealplan:

    Today: Bolognese
    Tomorrow: Bolognese
    Monday: Gammon, egg and chips
    Tuesday: Slow-cooker chicken
    Wednesday: Jambalaya
Thursday: At a pub quiz, probably eating there
    Friday: Chilli

I second pippi that you're doing a grand job :)

Idea for a cheap tea - we call it eggy in the basket...

    http://www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/recipes-inspiration/recipes/baked-spinach-eggs/

I find that one each is plenty, serve with salad or baked beans. I leave out the spinach for the kids, they have a piece of chorizo or pepperoni in the basket sometimes instead. Basically you can put in what you want, then the egg on top! It's a good easy way to use up old bread and random bits.

Enjoy the run/walk, I ran a 5k one a couple of summers ago, it is a lot of fun but quite an emotional day, too - even though I wasn't running for anything/anyone specific, lots of people are and the signs they put on their backs are both motivating and heartbreaking...

As a quick P.S., congrats to pippi on clearing the CC debt - just noticed your sig. Well done!
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
