Morning all
Budget post to follow as it's the 1st of the month, feel free to wander off! I don't get paid until the end of June, so I need to figure out what I need to take from my savings to cover me for the rest of the month.
My SOA shows that I need £668 for direct debits each month, so I'm going to leave £700 in my account so there's a little wiggle-room. There's currently £521.56, so a shortfall of £178.44. That's going to come from my savings account today.
I need £150 per month for groceries, and have £48.36 in my food account at the moment, so a shortfall of £101.64. I'm going to cover that next week when my final weekly pay comes in.
I'll need a little spending money too, but I want to make this a pretty lean month, so I'm not taking anything from my savings account for spending quite yet.0 -
Next post - what have I spent this weekend?
Dinner - £25.85 from the hotel bar. By the time we arrived on Thursday we were too tired to find anything cheaper! Cash
Lunch on Thursday - 58pI used my Love2Shop vouchers from the RM surveys to pay for two meal deals from Boots
Cash
Service station food - £4.90 + £5.97 + about £5 (can't find the receipt)
Petrol - £35.53 + £36
Tolls - £4.80
That's sitting at around £92.20 to go to my credit card  I've transferred £100 to the holding account for it until the transactions hit and I can see if I'm on the right track. That leaves me with £20 in my current account until next week.0 -
Another week, another Monday  I'm really sleepy having realised that series 3 of Scandal is on US Netflix and staying up till midnight for "just one more episode"
The banking has all been done this morning and not a lot is doing. I've paid £100 to my credit card and when the transactions have worked their way through I'll survey the damage properly.
I got £5.03 in my account this morning from a cashback grocery shopping app. These things are handy! I've just added it to the food shopping account and will count it as a minus on my spreadsheet, so free money
Nectar balance is nearly at £30. I'm going to be hoping for some good Adpoints videos to get it there.0 -
More budgeting!
Payday is on Friday and my payslip tells me I'm getting £295.33.
I'm adding £101.64 to my food account, which covers me until the end of June.
That leaves £193.69 left over. I have a budget for this month of £150 general spends and £15 in my purse, so I'm going to keep £135 for me and add £58.69 to my savings. That isn't as impressive as it sounds as I have had to pay out £70 from there today to cover lord knows what on my credit cardI think that weekend away was more costly than I thought.
My direct debits account has £522.39 in it and about £480 of direct debits to come out, so that's squeaky but not dreadful.
Confirmed plans for this month are:
Mama and Papa Mooo this weekend (shouldn't spend much and might get some food out of it!)
Cinema on Monday (my friend's turn for popcorn)
Comedy show on Tuesday (tickets paid, possibly money for drinks)
Dinner out on Thursday (cheap pub probably)
Pub quiz on 19th (Minimum spend £10)
I should manage that on £150 easily, but I'm awfy bad at saying no to invitations0 -

Budgeting post (I've had a long and confusing weekend - this is the only way to work it out!):
Money spent in Morrisons: £55.21
Mama Mooo's portion: £26
Total from food budget: £29.21
Father's Day: £65.55
Brother Mooo's portion: £33
Total from birthday budget: £32.55
Fringe tickets bought: £164.50

Funds owed by friend B: £23.85

It's too early for this! :rotfl:0 -

If there was a way of warming Edinburgh up, I can assure you, I would have found it and done it by now. I had my winter coat on on Thursday as I was so cold :(Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
