Morning all
Well, we're 1/3 of the way through the month and things are going well (so far!)
I've spent about £25 on miscellaneous things, and about £60 of my £150 food budget, although that's also included hair dye and a jumbo bag of the expensive cat litter because I couldn't get to Aldi last weekend. (£9.99 for a bag of litter!!!)
I've downloaded the You Need A Budget trial software and so far I really like it. I won't be paying £30 for it when the trial expires so am on the hunt for a code to get it cheaper. I'm hoping that the Steam sale kicks in before my trial expires and then I should get it for a tenner0 -
I'm up for trying YNAB if I can get the after trial one for £10 too! Keep us posted
Think I should be using my phone more with all these apps, I'm stuck in the laptop era still :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Everyone seems to be going over to the YNAB thing now - must admit I'm tempted but am holding off for now - I seem to be managing kinda OK without it and thus it seems a bit daft to be paying out for something new to play with.
I hear you on the craft magazine thing too - I was like that for a long while with photo mags - bought them from habit then suddenly realised I wasn't getting much out of them. Have bought a couple again in the last few months though as a conscious considered decision and I may well be back in a place where they would be of benefit for a while, so might go for a year's subscription.
Also  at £9.99 for a bag of litter. Jumbo? It had better be the size of your car to be worth that much! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The cat litter I buy (from Amazon) is £23.71
that is with a 15% discount! It is World's Best cat litter 12.7kg. It does exactly what it says on the tin though and the cats "like" it. They are outdoor cats and only come in at night so they rarely use their trays which means that a bag lasts AGES.

Got an email today confirming I'm getting £86 holiday pay from the temp job I just left. Not sure if it's being saved or splurged at this point...0 -

Morning all
I got my £86.11 today from my temp job, so I've splurged £25ish on some craft supplies and the rest has gone in my savings account. We're going to be getting out living room totally redecorated (papered, painted, getting the fireplace removed and a carpet put down in place of the laminate) in a few weeks and I want to make sure there's plenty money there. The fireplace removal is happening on Tuesday and that's costing £120 for it to get taken out, all the materials removed and it to be plastered as well. Not bad reallyThe whole job should end up costing less than £700 including materials, which I *think* is ok?
I'm loving the YNAB software. Hopefully I'll be able to get it cheap somewhere once my trial ends (31 days to go!) It does everything that a spreadsheet does, but it's on my phone so I can really keep track of things. The only thing that I'm not so sure on is all the categories. I tend to just lump anything that isn't bills/food/car/Christmas as spending money and then use it as I need it, but this wants a category for everything. I think I have to use it for a few months to really see what I'm spending in all categories. They have some great free tutorials too and I want to sign up for some of them as well.
Better get ready for work now. Happy Friday to all0
