Too right that our furry friends should downshift brands as well
Seems cats are fussier than dogs though, so fingers crossed he scoffs the lot
I've done the same with the dogs, though they'll eat pretty much anything (unfortunately, sometimes!).
Good going on the challenges and budget :TBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -

I still have a huge bag of Aldi senior biscuits that he flat-out refused to eat. We would fill his bowl and he would sniff them then start miaowing and miaowing. By the time dinner time rolled round they would be untouched. He's a greedy puss too so I know he *really* hated them.
These ones aren't own-brand, just cheaper brand so hopefully he'll be willing to have a go0 -
:rotfl::rotfl: At picky Pusses - HRH The Cat used to be an absolute demon for being choosy about food - when she used to have to go to the cattery they'd feed her Felix, then when she got home she didn't want to know about whatever (own brand, almost certainly!) stuff we had in - just turned her nose up and stalked off! :rotfl:
I also like Morrisons - there's one not too far from the office I work in which also has a petrol station - by the time I get there after work there are sometimes uber-cheap Y/S'd bargains! Got some lovely little new tatties for 19p a bag on Monday at the one we stopped at (to get lunch from that salad bar Beanie!) too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

My budget for shopping yesterday was £6 (Of the roughly £8 I had left from the weekly budget) which was to buy:
Cat food @ £4
Crumpets @ £1
Bananas @ £1
I managed to spend:
Cat food @ £2.70
Crumpets @ 75p
Loose bananas @ 89p
Total spend £4.34.
Now, I know that's not a huge saving, but if I can aim to do that for all my little shops, then it'll soon add up. I will NOT be going over my weekly budget this week. It's only week one :rotfl:0 -

My payslip has arrived and it looks as though my tax issue is sorted :j
It means that this month's budget needs another tweak though
Figures for this month:
Bills £684
Food £150
Entertainment £120
Car £100
Birthdays £40
Petrol £80
General spends £100
Total : £1274
That's £318.50 per week and I'm getting just over £290. Bah. My new plan involves combining my entertainment and my general spends AND my petrol. Anything left after bills/car/birthday/food is going in a big lump in my current account and all spends are to come from there. I might have to dip in to my savings if we decide to take the car to the weddings we're going to so that I have enough petrol, but other than that it's budget month all the way.
Did I already say BAH?0 -
Payday :j
The usual money-shuffle has been done and bank account figures are sitting thusly:
Current account: £55.02
Purse: £4
Food: £41.55
Birthdays: £75.58
Car: £121.97
I've also got the whole £30 from last week's entertainment budget sitting in a jar, so I'm going to take some of that out with me on Saturday as we have a day/night out planned. One of my friends is going to buy me a couple of drinks because I'm giving her a brand new tshirt I don't want, so that *might* keep costs down0 -

By which I obviously meant "spend the whole £30, and another £25 on your credit card"
Thankfully it's covered with the money in my current account, but still - BAD MOOO!
I set up a wee spreadsheet at the weekend to track my food shopping. I'm also tracking the original amount of anything I bought YS or on any other deal. The budget is looking ok for now but I need to get a meal plan done. That's a job for tomorrow - tonight I'm finishing off the last of my HM sausage rollsDon't get too excited though, they're WW-friendly so no pastry in sight

OK...I'll bite - how on EARTH do you make a sausage roll without pastry?!
Meal planning is happening here too, but in a rather loose, flexible, "here is a list of meals we could eat, and we'll eat one of them on each of the following 7 days" type of way. Suits me for now, and all the more so since I never got around to assembling cannelloni (meant to be for tonight) yesterday.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Rather than pastry you use Warbies Thins - the brown ones. It makes it more like a pitta sausage wrap, but it was pretty good.0
