Diary of a spendy cow

Quite a spendy day so far, including more groceries :rotfl: Only 80p though (for a loaf of wholemeal bread) and I'll be using breadcrumbs from that to top a chicken & chorizo gratin for dinner and then to attempt home made fish fingers tomorrow  There's a good chance we'll end up with a hogmanay takeaway! The other spends have been minor really - bus ticket, some milk for tea and a couple of cups of hot water.
As often happens at the end of the year, I've decided that next year will be the Year Of The MSE, so I've joined these challenges:- Take your lunch to work (aiming for 11 days out of the 12 I've estimated I'll be in the office)
- Sealed Pot Challenge - I have a lovely terramundi that needs filling
- I'm already doing the Grocery Challenge and am lurking on the frugal living one. I always feel like a fraud on that one :rotfl:

I had to look up 'drookit :rotfl: Hope you've dried out.
You're ahead with the inventories, haven't got round to printing mine yet.
Hope the roof leak is sorted quickly, a problem you could do without in this weather.
Definitely soup weatherBack on the DFW Wagon:

The roof has already yielded £25 due to a complaint being registered with my Home Emergency Cover folk - 24 hour response time my backside. I called on Friday and still haven't heard back. If I don't get a call by the end of the day I shall be grumping up a storm - I'm scared I'll be arriving home to a torrent of water :eek:0 -
Take care out there - it is absolutely vile
Finally gave in & took Maisie for a (short) walk .... she enjoyed jumping in the puddles
I'm not going to set foot outside again today!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I'll print a Scottish words list to stick next to the freezer inventory in that case
Oh hope home is ok when you return. £25 towards the repair but no use if they still haven't fixed itBack on the DFW Wagon:

Massive damp patch on the ceiling now and clear evidence that water came down the walls, at least dripping, while I was at work. Halifax Home Emergency are utterly hopeless and as soon as I get the money they owe me I will be cancelling the policy.0

Not a good advert for them.

Aye, I saw that Beanie. Hopefully we will still get ours, although if not it's not the end of the world I guess - as long as I don't get charged full price :rotfl:
Got some more kitchen decluttering done today - I've managed to get rid of a barely used toastie maker to a friend. She offered to pay for it so I said if she bought lunch on Saturday (supermarket cafe, nowhere expensive!) we would call that a deal.0 -

Morning all
Checking the accounts this morning and all is well. I thought I had miscalculated my credit card, but forgot I need to get a couple of refunds done today, so it'll all be on track then.
Current account balance is back up to £270 and I have about £40 in my purse, so I'm fine for cash as long as I don't go crazy
The man for the roof is coming today though so it could end up being expensive.
Plans for today are:- Tidy up a little bit before the roof man arrives - all the stuff I need to declutter from the kitchen is in the living room where the damage is
- Return dress to Sainsbury's
- Return iPad cover to Tesco
- Mooch around both supermarkets for reductions
- Go to Asda for reductions and also get a passport form (The post office is in the supermarket)
- Buy a hot water bottle as mine has gone pop and it's cold
- Wash and dry all glassware in the mugs cupboard, wash this down and put all stuff back
- Attempt home-made fishfingers for the first time
- Any Adpoints/Canvass surveys that come my way
