I have ordered a £26.25 Amazon voucher courtesy of TCB. I'm adding that to the vouchers I already have in my account which will take me to nearly £60 :D Pretty sure I'm going to buy myself an Actifry after Christmas.

    .

    Hi Mooomin

We have an Actifry - I think they are brilliant. No grease and lovely tasting chips.

We are on our second one - DH had a 'funny head moment' and instead of leaving the Actifry on the work top, he put it on the hob and then turned the hob on:rotfl::eek: and left the room!!!

The only time I ask him to cook tea as I had to go out and he nearly burnt the house down - to be honest it re-inforced why I don't let him loose in the kitchen since his head problem started!!!

The 1 problem I have now is that I can't really eat fried food like chips, garlic mushrooms etc - I get a really upset tummy and it only happens when I have been out for a pub meal.

    Merry Christmas Eve!

    Account balances:

    Food: £161.42
    Christmas: £59.76
    Car: £202.66
    Current account: £340

My food account is very overspent as I only got paid a week ago, but I should be able to live on the freezer food if I am careful and mealplan ;)

I'm working my way through Adpoints this morning to try and get them finished off. I went to Sainsbury's last night to get the last of the Christmas bits and only spent £3 of my own money. I'm pretty sure that Adpoints paid for our dessert :D

Merry Christmas to you all when it comes ♥

    Gotta love Adpoints :rotfl:

I'm planning a freezer and cupboard use up through January too - undecided as yet whether to reduce to just the kitchen freezer and turn off the garage one and save electricity, or do lots of batch cooking and fill up the garage one again!

I also thought about stocking up on SBs Basics Tea Bags as they usually put their prices up across the store by 5% on 2nd Jan, however I've been given 480 tea bags as a Christmas gift from one of my customers, so I'm quite stocked up in that area :D

I may have to pop into the town's Tesco Express today if I can't locate the missing sausages and bread :rotfl:

Have a lovely day tomorrow :xmassign:

    Morning all :D

Very little MSE news to report over Christmas thankfully. All the accounts are pretty much where I left them, although there was a shortfall of about £40 between my credit card balance and where I thought it should be so I transferred that this morning.

I'm about to get dressed to head to town and mooch about the sales. This is very late for me as I'm normally in for the crack of dawn but this year I just can't be bothered. If I find stuff I want, hurrah, but I'm not going to go mad for it. I do plan on being at Paperchase for 9am though ;)

Santa was very good to me and I got terribly spoiled. The biggest surprise was from a friend in America who sent me an Actifry as a joint Christmas/birthday present!! It was on my Amazon wishlist and she had it delivered a couple of days before Christmas. She's received a telling off for being extravagant (although she and her hubby have a good income) but I'm not-so-secretly delighted. I plan to spend the weekend reorganising my small kitchen so I have room for it to go in there!!

Hope you all had a lovely time as well ♥

Oh wow, what great friends you have in the US and your Amazon pot in tact too. Fantastic. :T

Happy sales shopping! Has made me think whether I should go to the sales and start getting gifts for birthdays/next Christmas. Bit late for me today as not even dressed yet :rotfl:

    And happy kitchen re-arranging :D

Back from the sales unharmed although my bank account will be considerably lighter :D

Worth checking out your local Sainsbugs as they had LOADS of gift sets for under £3; all the gents in the family are now catered for in 2014 :D

Empty shelves in our SB where all the sales bits were :( . I was too late going this afternoon but did get the milk we needed and the large meat/turkey roasting bags were half price at 50p for 2 - going to use one for the duck. Oven cleaning hasn't even made it onto the 'to do' list :o

Time to face up to my spending for yesterday :D

    My spends:

    [STRIKE]£30[/STRIKE] £11.98 two cushions
[STRIKE]£25.50[/STRIKE] £15.50 Underwear (Might still be returned if it doesn't fit!)
[STRIKE]£12[/STRIKE] £5 jumper. Also might end up returned.
[STRIKE]£30[/STRIKE] £14 jumper. Again, may be returned!

    Total spends: £46.48
    Should have cost: £97.50

    Christmas account spends:

    [STRIKE]£5[/STRIKE] £2.50 cookie cutters
[STRIKE]£9.50[/STRIKE] £4.75 Wrapping paper (amount of wrapping paper needed - none :o)
[STRIKE]£53[/STRIKE] £17.10 on Christmas gifts in Sainsbury's. Men's toiletries and some nice ladies smellies sets included in this and a mug for my father in law :D
[STRIKE]£14[/STRIKE] £6 Christmas gifts in Next
    [STRIKE]£30[/STRIKE] £13.95 festive gifts/gift bags/tags in Paperchase.

    Total spends: £44.30
    Should have cost: £111.50

    Grocery spends:

£6.43 in Sainsbury's. Unreasonable amount of chocolate included in this because all the Christmas stuff was half price. :o

    ***

All of this jiggery-pokery leaves the accounts thusly:

    Current account: £244.37
    Food account: £154.99
    Christmas account: £15.46

The food account is worrying, but we have a lot in so I just need to be tough with myself :) With three weeks till payday that's £50 a week which should be fine for two people and one moggy. My current account balance might increase as I've transferred out money to cover my spending yesterday (and a couple of bits I bought in the pre-Christmas sales) but any returns will be put back to my current account.

A to-do list will follow once I've had breakfast :D

    Excellent savings in there. :T

Have been sales shopping too this morning at 9am (it was very quiet) and got alot of 50% off gifts in Accessorize, Waterstones, Debenhams and Boots. Never done it before, so now I have to find somewhere to stash them for 11 months :rotfl:

Good job DS was with me - we bought so much I wouldn't have been able to carry it on my own :D, won't clog up your diary with details, will pop a detailed post on mine shortly.

Might be worth doing a food inventory and meal planning roughly. I did a freezer one last night and doubt I'll need to buy meat until about March based on that :rotfl:

    Happy clothes trying on :)
