I switched to FD in February. They have always been lovely when I have spoken to them (just a couple of times at the start of the account). It is a real person who answers the phone which is great, none of this "press 1, press 2..." nonsense. Trust OB to put a spanner in the works, yet another reason why you are doing the right thing. Well done for getting compo!
I love your diaries, they seem to keep me on trackMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
Mortgage today = £161,690.76

Doesn't hurt that I used to work for Old Bank and know that they are encouraged to solve complaints at first point of contact0
-
What a faff with the old bank - are you banking the compo cheque with FD?
A decent amount as well, I got £20 popped into mine when the galloping black one failed to stop a cheque earlier this year.
Just wondered if you do Nectar Canvass Surveys - I picked up another 120 points last night from doing 2. Thinking this might be a good way for me to replace having a clothes budget.
Have diaried the double points exchange weekend too - thanks for the heads up on that. I'll be heading for the dessertsBack on the DFW Wagon:

I'll be banking the cheque with RBS as that's who my savings account is with at the moment, so it's another step towards my holiday
I don't do Canvass surveys because I did surveys for SO LONG and got horribly bored with them. I'm just heading to do some Adpoints before bed because I didn't do many last week and every point counts in the run up to the festive season!0 -

Current account: £60 (bought tickets to see one of my favourite comedians next year)
Credit card: £49.59
Food account: £99.65
Christmas: £252.68
My weekly spend challenge for next week is probably going to be quite tight as I want to be able to save a little of this money, but I'm buying a few bits and pieces for myself today so I'll update on the leftovers tomorrow
My food account is looking VERY healthy with 9 days till payday, but I'm using this as an opportunity to fill the cupboards with some supplies to try and have a reasonably lean November/December and be able to buy some good treats for Christmas.0 -
A couple of other things in the MSE sphere:
Sold some tickets for an event and should get £176 (minus postage) from Seatwave in December sometime. They pay after the event to minimise fraud.
I have a load of Ebay auctions ending this weekend - £40 already. Four auctions end today and another load tomorrow.
I'm nearly at 200 Nectar points for the week thanks to Adpoints. It's boring as sin, but I realised last night that the site works on my iPad so I could do the videos while I was watching TV
Tonight I'm going to do my timesheets for my second job (2 hours a week!) I'm terrible at remembering to do them, so these date back to August  Thankfully they don't penalise me for that!0 -
The Family Mooomin are in town, which means visiting ALL OF THE SHOPS. I was reasonable well-behaved though and the spends went like this:
My spends:
£10.60 on recipe books (Fat Club has them half price this week) I should be able to make them low-fat and low-cost!
Food spends:
Tesco - £6.84 I had a voucher for 100 points when I spent £5 too :money:
Morrisons - £3.04
Asda - £31.55 although £6 of that was for batteries
Christmas spends:
£2 on set of three pretty candles.
£9.50 on Willow Tree ornament which was half price in Clintons
£9.25 on wine and chocolates
Some of my Ebay auctions ended last night - three items sold. I've relisted three, including one which hadn't been paid from last week  I have 15 items ending tonight, and seven have bids on them for £26.44 + postage. Quite a few of the remaining items have watchers as well.
My Adpoints are nearly up to the 250 for the week, which is great. I've got a voucher for double points when I buy fuel too so I'll fill up the car today as well.
Today we're off to do more shopping (Bah...) but I'm taking the Christmas list with me and I'm going to be trying to get as much of it finished as I can!
Happy Sunday0 -
Monday morning moneysaving
A load of Ebay items ended last night:
Ebay fees: £5.96
Postage: £12.60 (I was at the post office at 8.10am. That is not a civilised time!)
Paypal balance remaining: £35.42
I'm still waiting for about £22 in payments, and have relisted three unsold items.
As my Post Office is in a supermarket, I also spent £1.66 to get the ingredients for enough soup to make my lunches all week. It's not going to be interesting soup, but it'll be tasty enough
Plans for the week:- Spend no money on food until at least Saturday
- Photograph items for Ebaying
- Start listing above items ready for next Ebay free listing weekend
- Tidy out the spare room
- Go to the cinema at least once
- Chase location of tickets (already sold, but the company hasn't sent them to me yet!)
- [STRIKE]Cancel LoveFilm membership[/STRIKE]
- Keep spends to under £20
- [STRIKE]Submit timesheets for second job[/STRIKE]

Someone sounds very determined - post office at 8.10am  Brilliant going though.
eBay sales here - £48.37, subject to them turning up to collect and pay! Going to round to £50 and pay to CC1 if/when.
You've reminded me to organise a search party for when I delve into the spare room, I think I might get lost under stuff :rotfl:
