Call the cat georgie and your son George. Your son will be around for longer than the cat
Good thinking! I was going to say that actually, that the child will be around MUCH longer than the cat. (No offence and I hope your cat lives to a good age)
That said, yes George IS going to be a popular/common name for baby boys born this year - and next probably.
Still, I wouldn't let that stop me if I loved the name0 -
I muddle my two sons (a year apart) - and they have distinctivce names and personalities. I really wouldn't give a child the same name as a living pet. You've time for this name game, and can always use the pet name as a middle name?0

No. Because it would mean my sons were called either Charlotte, Joey No Tail or Barry....0

Or do as I do, give the kids alternative names, I have Boy, Girl and Beast it saves time and confusion!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

Just change the cat's name to Dave. Or Michael. Or Boris.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
If I wanted the name for a child, I'd just nick it off the cat and give it another name instead. The cat won't mind: As long as he gets fed he won't give a fig. Look at all the cats who get rehomed and given a new name.......they don't care at all about loss of identity etc. All they want is a warm lap and some decent grub
.
btw, I like the name George. Yes, there might be a lot of them in the next few years, but it's not been exactly uncommon for the last few centuries, has it? Its a nice, masculine, traditional name, and probably wasted on a cat0 -
It's your child so name him what you want...
however if you care what people think then maybe not the cats name... if someone I know named their child the same as their cat my first thought would be - WEIRDO!!
Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted but it's the truth0 -
I used to have a cat called Georges after the hurricane , and also named one of my sons George so although not exactly the same fairly similar, the cat is gone now sadly but there was no confusion and my son has a name that he and we loveMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

why do you have to have a name that goes with your eldest's name?
Sounds like a daft reason to pick a name personally but hey ho each to his own.
(btw I think george is such an old man's name)2014 Target;
