  • Should we just sit tight?

I guess so, although I'll be watching my c.card statement like a hawk for the next few weeks, and keep the phones boxed up here until I feel 'safe' to use 'em!

  • I reckon that because they had cancelled my order on Monday following a phone call from them, they had shipped the order by accident and also assumed I haven't received the order from the courier ( as I wasn't asked to sign for the parcel ), therefore refunded me my money.

Thanks - think I will notify the bank. £185 has left my account and OH waited all day today for them to collect them and they didn't turn up! They have said they will not refund until the phones are back so no point in trying to hang on to these ones at that price - offered to keep them as the substitutes but at the contracted price £15.16 but they say if I was to keep them it would be the £185 they have already taken

Keep the phones, invoice Viking for your OH's time and tell your bank that you have not authorised Viking to debit your account for £185. Ask Viking to produce evidence that you have authorised the removal of £185 from your account.

    Or just give up.

After hearing nothing from Viking, I emailed to ask where my phones are, this is their reply.

    Good Afternoon Mr Smith

I'm in receipt of your email addressed to Richard Carvell, in connection to the telephone offer. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

On investigation to this issue, we became aware of a pricing error with this item. We took a large amount of orders due to this error and some orders were processed and some of our customer have received telephones. Unfortunately stock of this promotional offer was soon depleted and this meant that we can't fulfil any further orders.

Our terms and conditions do advise that if a product or service is listed at an incorrect price due to an error we reserve the right to cancel any contract made. In these circumstances you will not be entitled to seek compensation for disappointment suffered or for any losses which you might have otherwise incurred.

I've checked with our credit card department and they have confirmed that no payment has been taken from your credit/debit card.

Once again please do accept my apologies for this issue and any inconvenience that this may have caused you., it is not our intention to upset any of our customers.

    Kind Regards

    Lisa

In the same paragraph they first say misprice, then call it a promotional offer!! i love the bit at the end about winning solutions :)

They have lost me as a customer, not because of the misprice/promotional offer, but because of the shoddy way they dealt with it. Wonder what will happen next :)

I ordered an item and they sent a completely different item.

I emailed them and got a reply saying to send it back with a letter and they will fix their error. Is this right, do I have to pay, should I send it recorded delivery, do I have to now trek down to the nearest PO, and pay the return postage costs? i have sent them another email asking them these questions, but no reply. Their customer services must be busy - I wonder why :)
