Corsa's aren't even that cheap anyway. It's not just about engine sizes but a lot of other variables; 1ltr Corsa's often attract new drivers who like to fit fart cannons, lower them (either properly or chop the strings), stereos worth more than the car, and then crash them while trying to impress their 15 year old girlfriend.
but I'll take your 6k and raise you. This is a genuine quote that I got on Sunday for a winter run around (X Reg Mondeo Zetec S), that was up for £350.
I've chopped and pasted the quote to show the difference between cheapest and most expensive.0 -

Before my ban I was paying about £600 to insure a VW beetle fully comp, after my ban I was able to insure an old VW Polo TPFT for about £400 (with 5 years NCD as I let my insurance run whilst I was banned). It took a LOT of phoning round to get a decent quote but eventually i found something affordable.
find this hard to digest.
everyone i know who got done DR10 IN10 together instantly had a reaction of "with the new details you provided we cant provide cover", upon informing their insurer.0 -

Have Hastings called you yet to genuinely ask if you're going to take the policy...?0 -

Never give your genuine telephone number when searching these insurance comparison sites, or you will be inundated with calls from those who've given you a quote."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I put what i think is my landline down. can never remember if it's **0 **8 or **8 **0, but I don't use my landline anyway so god knows how many people are calling it.
Confused.com have a link over the terms and conditions box. click it and you get a 'leave me alone' box.0 -

I might be getting them on the landline then... or somebody else in my area depending on if i know my landline number or not. Shame though as now it's been mentioned I'd love them to call me0

I can assure you that it's true, though so long ago that I struggle to remember any other details. If I recall correctly, the company who provided the winning quote was Dial Direct, though I could be mistaken. I think one of the things that went in my favour was that I didn't receive any points, and the fine was extremely small (either £60 or £80?).0 -
yep, but they also ask about endorsements and the drunk one will stay on your licence for 11 years
OP - Were you under 18 at the time of the conviction (ie the date you were convicted, not the date of the offence?) If so the rehabilitation period is reduced to two and a half years so the convictions are already spent - though you might have to make this point somewhat forcefully to an insurer if you didn't declare it and they found out about it.0
