Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. Where is everyone today?

I have a day off and it looks busy already. No rush to get anywhere but my son has an interview at Mc Donalds at 3pm today. But must come in black trousers and shoes as he will have a short trial as well. A Bit of an awkward time as it's in the middle of the day. Hope he gets it.

I think we are shopping this AM as son also needs some clothing for the ball and jeans as well. He never comes with us, so he never usually gets anything... Hopefully today.

Had a relaxing evening after a manic session at ASDA, Meals deals at £2 each, means I had a rather nice curry and bottle of wine. Watched a DVD as the TV was crap last night even with SKY.

Well think I will take the dog for a walk to he paper shop.

Stopped raining here. No floods thankfully.

Cheers

:hello: Gooooood Morning N9eav and all who follow :D:D:D

I'm aching like mad today, but at least I slept like a log! The gym class yesterday was one based on a huge ball workout ... huge laugh, but oooh, I ache!!!!!

I'm going to be making a couple of rice bags today and getting some baking done. In our Yoga class earlier this week, at the end/relaxation part, they put a rice bag over our eyes - my friend K didn't want to get back up again  So, I said I'd make her one for when she gets one of her headaches; she has a 10yo daughter so I thought I'd make one for her too. I'm meeting up with them later today for an open air concert (free), that's if it's not too wet (bit grey outside at the moment).

Baking today will be a boiled fruit cake plus a date and walnut cake.

N9eav - good luck for your ds's interview, fingers X'd for him. Hope you manage to find a solution to the Tux dilema.

Enjoy a moneysaving Saturday, ((hugs)) for those who are in need/want

Haven't slept too good, hence me being on here!!

DS has got a sponsored walk this morning, so hope the weather holds off for them. Then he taking part in the BT Big Sleepover tonight, so all the boys and girls at the brigade are sleeping at the church tonight - so might catch up on my sleep.

Not up to much today only the usual stuff, shopping, cleaning, washing, ironing - you get the picture.

Anyway, hope you have a good day if your celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

Queenie, you can get an hour by hour forecast from the BBC here:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?id=1701
just change the location to the nearest big town near you, bottom right hand side. Hope it stays dry for you us too, we're changing a couple of the vents on our touring caravan roof! We do pick our weekends.

N9eav It might be the wrong time of the year, but we bought our DS a tux from Makro for around £30 I think, not the best in the world but adequate. It's seen him through uni events, most of them end up with beer down them;), so well worth it for the money. I think Matalan has them in too, similar price. Our DS never went shopping with us but luckily like his Dad he is a stock size, so I could always "buy and return". I can remember it cost less to buy it than hire one once!

Little Miss Saver - hope the rain holds off for your DS too. You may get some sleep tonight, but he won't! :rotfl: :rotfl: - treat yourself to a little "me" time if you can.

    Congratulations/Birthday Wishes/Commiserations/(((Hugs))) as needed/wanted.

Has anyone heardseen from/seen Amie I often get a PM, but no word at all!

    Take care all

    Good morning all!

Lovely sunny day here. Yesterday, DS & I were in Suffolk, at a birds of prey sanctuary, with a home ed. group. We had a tour round with one of the keepers first, then there was a flying display with different types of birds. The barn owl was beautiful as it flew across.
There was a sale in the shop, and they had loads of really nice gifts from 50p upwards. One of my sisters collects owls, so I got her a nice china owl for 50p. The best value was the things for £1.99, a whole table full of them. They had the sets with a teapot for one which fits into a cup, with a matching saucer (do you know what I mean?) and they were in a presentation box like a little hat box. Anyway, it was a really pretty set & I have wanted one for ages, so treated myself. I have put the box away because it is so nice I can fill it with treats & give it to someone as a Christmas or birthday present! I got another nice boxed gift from the same £1.99 table as well, so was really pleased.
The weather was glorious there yesterday, and I got a bit sunburnt - remembered to put sunscreen on my face, so not too bad. But when I got home, DH said there had been a really heavy downpour at lunchtime (while we were picnicing under a parasol in Suffolk)
But while we were out, DH was wonderful - cleaned most of the house and did the ironing! Having 2 weeks enforced rest while off sick obviously has its advantages!

Not got much planned today, some shopping needed & want to go to the library. Washing is done & needs to go out while it is still nice. D/w needs emptying.

Anyway, (((hugs))) to those who want them, and especially to those who need them!
    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning all

DH has spied a break in the monsoon, and taken the dog out :D Saw the floods on the news last night, so hope no-one on here is affected.

Off to the auction this morning, last time we went I bought 9 boxes of greetings cards, so will be selling them until the next century, but at least I now have a card for every possible occasion :rotfl:

Curry for tea, and we're having one delivered this week, so I can sit with my feet up and a very large glass (or two) of wine

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Good morning all
I had a lie in this morning, didn't get up till 6, so far I've taken hubby to the station with his flask & packed lunch, fed next doors cat, they come home today, woo hoo, fed the fish, loaded & unloaded WM & DW & let Thumper & Ogden out, I'll clean them out around 10ish.
Plans for the rest of the day are to sort out my spare room as I'm not sure when my new lodger is arriving, it's probably the weekend after next, but if I get it done then I don't have to do it in a rush at the last minute. I'm making a rice bag today too Queenie.
Next week I have 2 lots of curtains to alter & more cakes to make for another cake sale.
There is a chance I might get 2 more lodgers in September, one from Australia & one from Nigeria, it should be interesting. I've learned a lot about Zimbabwean culture from my current lodger as I'm a very nosy person, lol.
I've finished my breakfast & my 2nd cuppa, whilst I've been on here, so I better go & make a start on my spare room.
    Hugs to all

    Morning Guys!

Looks abit glum here but hoping for sunshine later:D

WM just about to go on, DW will go on after breakfast and toilet has been scrubbed.

DD still not feeling very well and she has even said that she may not be able to go to drama this afternoon...so she must be ill:rolleyes:

Have family coming today:eek:

Really need to do a few odd jobs around the house: clean out cutlery drawer, clear out corner cupboard in the kitchen. Have a deep fat fryer that we havent used in months as is taking up a huge space:p

OH has suggested taking us out for a Sunday Roast tomorrow but we will see. He has a voucher for £20 so it would only cost us about £10 more with a drink and a pudding to share:confused: ...we will see!

Also looking at knives as ours are crap! Any recomendations that arent too pricey:confused:

Anyway, I have to go and eat and drink.

    Breakie: Bacon Butties
    Lunch: Roll/Sarnie Selection
    Dinner: HM Chilli & Rice

    Hugs to all.

    Hi everyone!
Always a bit scared when I make it onto the first page of the daily thread...must be up early!! Was wide awake at some ridiculous hour and as our MR T was totally snarled up last night due to a refit I've been there this morning instead. Also done a dark load. Just for info Mr T are now doing their OB white vinegar for 43p as opposed to the 68p I was paying [don't have a shop that sells it in big thingies near me!]
Over to Hampshire for lunch with a friend today but the chaps are heading into town first. The small person was promised by OH that if he tidied his art cupboard he could spend some of his building society funds on some more Meccano. Didn't take much persuading there...he was asking at 7.20 if he could go yet!!
I meanwhile shall muck this place out. Will also wrap pressies for my friend as her birthday is soon, my sister's presents for her birthday and a couple of bits for Father's Day.
Tomorrow I'm making fudge for my Dad, raspberry muffins [from JDs thread] and sticky blobs [from the Be-Ro recipe book] at the request of the small person.
Hope you don't get too soggy where you are!
