  • Well I wasn't voted woman of the year at slimming world but I did get a lovely certificate for being nominated. The other woman was at target and I have a fair bit still to go. I also put on 8.5lbs in 5 weeks whilst I have been off sick :o so I would have felt like a total fraud if I had won.

I then met friends and we sat and blethered and had a juice and cake. So tomorrow is d-day. I'll need to go shopping though as no fruit etc in. Quick trip down to Aldi though will sort that out.

Still watching breaking bad but on final series now

Vi used to have a business and washed at least 200 tea towels every week, when I bought my washer I looked into the electric and water consumption. I popped it all into an excel spreadsheet and worked out that by buying a Miele ( 6 year guarantee as well) I would save ££££ a year on water and electric. It's now 9 years old and is still, going strong.

  • I've got a miele press as they are the best. Bought it second hand. I'll have a wee look at the washing machines though. Thanks xx

  • Had a wee look at the miele machines on gumtree etc and they are pretty expensive. My friend who owns a laundry swears by the commercial top loaders so I may go for one of those when I get summer house converted.

Nice wee day today. Went and sorted out my sick line at docs. Went to Aldi and co-op for some much needed shopping. Spent £63 all in but needed a lot of stuff. Took lovely flowers up to cemetery as haven't been there for a few weeks as been ill. Felt better for a wee chat with my Mum :rotfl:.

Back on plan for SW today and been okay so far. I'm a bit hungry now but am going to go to bed soon and that'll see me through until morning.

I have a cleaning shift tomorrow and then getting my hair cut and coloured in afternoon. Not had my hair cut since June 11th and its short so it is now a riot. Roots are inches long. I feel like a total mess so it's time to sort myself out.

So off to bed I go. Hope you are all well xx

  • Evening folks. Been a busy wee day today which has resulted in me being shattered and stuck to the couch.

Had a cleaning shift and it was H E L L. Sad thing was it had been the bloody owners and their friends who had been in the house so it was very very disappointing to go in to such a mess. It took me 2.5hrs just to tidy up enough to start doing my work. I was really peed off. I enjoy getting the houses ready for the next guests but it really annoys me when people treat cleaning staff like servants. I'm nobodies servant :mad: So 5 and a half hours of solid cleaning. No rests or anything as I was in a hurry to leave as I had a hair appointment. I was looking a bit like cousin 'IT' from the Addams family. Looking all nice now and grey has gone for another wee while. £55 cost mind you . But I'm worth it :rotfl:

No other spends but getting very skint now. Still a few direct debits to come off of my account before month end but I'll get there. Things will ease up a bit once both kids can start paying digs in September. At least I will be able to rely on that coming in each month. Also once DS starts college my electricity consumption will plummet .

Got loads of food today from the house I was cleaning but DD is away to work and it is in her car, There's yogurt and butter amongst the food so I am really annoyed at her as the chances are it will go off in the heat today as we are having a sunny day. She didn't forget to bring in the ice lollies funnily enough !!

Anyway wee day at home tomorrow. I'll get the laundry done and then Saturday I have a short shift to get done and a small amount of laundry before I head back to work on Monday. Back to my chaotic life :)

Wanted to say hello, I've read your whole diary, it's taken ages, feel a bit bereft now like when you finish a good book!
  • Alibob - Wowsa well done for getting through it all. Keep visiting as I have a looooooong way to go yet.

A day of laundry today but will be another £70 into the coffers and tbh the washing of it is simple as I just chase the washing from washer to dryer and then fold it ready for pressing which I hope to do tonight if I manage to get everything ready. Other than that I'll have a nice easy day. My friend is coming up this afternoon for a cuppa and a wee catch up so I better get dressed :o

DS's new desk and chair is coming today. Bed will be delivered next week. Don't know if I've already said but I am hoping to pay off these things by selling other household things I no longer want. Guilt free spending :D

Going to kondo my kitchen bit by bit over the weekend and start getting this place into order. I talk about my house as if it's a bombsite but it really isn't but I just feel as if we are bursting at the seams and anything I can do to help alleviate this must be a good thing.

So I'll head off and get on. I'll no doubt be back later x

  • Well I never got back on last night as I ended up pressing washing until after midnight . All done though. However today I have picked up 2 houses worth of laundry so the machines are on the go again :D ching ching as that'll be another £90 for debt payments. Just waiting on client transferring over £140 for last weeks laundry and this weeks cleaning stint and I can get that paid off. I hate waiting on money coming in. I'm so impatient.

Just going to have a day of mooching about. Dishwasher and washing machine are both on just now. Just going to have omelettes and chips for dinner as I have loads of eggs. I bought a big box and then got another 12 from the house I was cleaning on Thursday. So they will need to be used up.

So no other news. My house smells as if I'm inside a bottle of Ariel liquid but I rather like that. Much better than dirty bin :rotfl:
