Evening folks. Well I gave in today and phoned CSA. The guy was quite indignant in saying that he had been trying to call me. I asked what number and he quoted my home number. I said well if you check your notes you will see I left my works number and instructions to be called there. That put his gas at a peep. He told me it could take up to 30 days to get my complaint dealt with and get my money . I said you have got to be joking!! Was told they say that to 'cover their backs' how unprofessional , but he would hope to get it done quicker. I said I think you should remind yourself that this is my money and this is tantamount to theft by keeping it from me. I think I was peeing him off as I wasn't all grateful that he now 'had my case'. Anyway I got 1 payment of £37 this morning so that's a start. I'll not be using this money for overdraft as I need it to see us through until end of month. Anyway rant over.
A NSD today:D. First one this week so that's good. Work was manic and my new BFF was hanging about again singing the song from Frozen to us. Freaked me out a bit :rotfl: I think she's losing it!! I am absolutely bursting my target these days now that all the interruptions have reduced. I knew this would be the case but I feel each time I send in my stats that it has a big 2 finger salute on the front of it :rotfl:
DD is getting her car back tomorrow and had to borrow £180 from me as she saved £170 for her excess herself but needs to borrow the rest from me. I gave her it from my fund to pay off overdraft as she has said she will repay it within next few weeks. She's taking as many shifts as she can get from the pub.
DD cannot decide whether she wants a party or not for her 21st. I would like her to but I think she is a bit scared that no-one will turn up. Of course they would but it's her decision so I will leave her to make up her own mind.
Made a big pot of chicken and rice soup and just about to have a wee bowl of it. Free on slimming world so I can eat as much as I want of it. Had a steak for dinner and it was divine. I forgot how nice steak can taste. yum yum.
Am away now to eat soup and then cycle. I lost a stinky wee 1lb this week so that was disappointing but I will keep going and hopefully get a couple next week.
Wind, rain and snow are horrific here tonight. Am just hoping no damage will be done :eek:5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Evening all. NSD again today. This NSD challenge is really helping my diet as well as I was really wanting something nice today but wouldn't buy anything as then I would have spent money.
DD has decided she wants a 21st so we have had lots of fun looking at ideas for her. We will need to see if we can get a hall and she wants a Hollywood theme. I have an awesome dress that is too small for me but I have about 12 weeks to get into it. So it's a go go for my diet. She wants a sweet stall and a photo booth. I would do the sweets myself. I've priced it up and could do it for under £100 so that's okay. I would do buffet myself as well to keep costs down. Will need to reign her in though as she is mentally spending an absolute fortune.
I'm off now for 4 days which makes me sunny. I have a funeral tomorrow and cleaning job number 1, Saturday I have cleaning job number 2 for 2 hrs , then spa and swim with buddies and wee overnight in one of the cottages, Sunday I have 2 hrs in cleaning job 2 and Monday a full cleaning shift in cleaning job 2. Busy weekend but at least I will get some good quality down time with my pals on Saturday.
My friend who has the cleaning business is going away in February. I have taken the week off so I can cover all her jobs. Not sure yet what it will entail but I do know it'll be a great wee earner for me. Things are looking up. I am just going to hammer in as many payments as I can and sort my life out once and for all. It is all very exciting (and exhausting ha ha)
I hope you guys are all good5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Wow, lots happening at MiT Towers
What a flipping cheek with the CSA still, but glad you got something out of them.
Ha ha, how many meals in your freezer now with all that meat:D
Well done on all the cleaning shifts - don't get down if you can't put all the money to the OD fund - you're going at 100mph and even if you slow to 10mph on, it's still heading very much in the right direction.
DD's party plans sound amazing - I went to a curry house for my 21st and everyone bought their own, had no idea I was a bit of a miser back then :rotfl:
And don't knock the 1lb loss - I put 2lbs on with a weigh in at the GPs
Loving new Bestie :rotfl:
Stay safe in the foul weather up there and hope the funeral goes as well as these things can do. Enjoy the remaining few days off too. You're doing so well. :TBack on the DFW Wagon:

I agree with what Ali says. Re the party, does it have to be a photo booth. With the Hollywood theme, could you stage a spot with big lights, etc and have a pal asking if peeps are ready for their close ups? The big plus is that dd then has access to all of the pics.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Ali I reckon about 200 dinners lol. Should keep us going for a wee while. I'll bet I still spend money on food though!!
INOD that's a great idea. My son and my brother are into photography so we could do a board about DD's 21st and get some props and they could do the pics for us. Hopefully I can sell the idea to her. Update since I started typing. She loves the idea as we can do an Oscars type board and take pics as people arrive. It'll keep DS busy and out of my hair
Horrible day here today. Snow showers have been on and off all day. Had to postpone tonight's cleaning gig which is annoying. Snow is really heavy where the cottage is so wouldn't be safe to drive there. No guests in there for a couple of weeks anyway so no big rush.
Only spend today is £5 for collection at funeral.
My friend with motor neurone disease is quite poorly but refusing to go into hospital Just waiting to see what doctor says when he goes in to see her. I'm really concerned about her.
Had a nice wee day. DD and I went to my friend's Dad's funeral ( I don't mean that was nice lol) and then went to look at potential halls for said party. Quite excited about it now and she is hyper. She has all these ideas of what she wants and I am coming up with MSE ways of doing them. She wants a giant cupcake cake so I will just buy the mould for that and I will make it for her along with smaller ones. I'll buy a holder for them as well. This may not work out much cheaper than buying them but I will have the holder for future use.
A wee chilled evening now for me but I am very happy to indulge myself with that.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Ooh I had a thought on the photo stuff for DD too - as selfies are trendy, could have what INOD suggests but with DD in each one too but taken by DS - so birthday girl with each one of her friends as they arrive with the big spot etc.
Annoying about the snow and the impact on cleaning, hope it goes soon and you can get it done.
:rotfl: 200 dinners, how about meal planning so you can use and just buy the needed accompaniments? Will string out the rest of your food budget for the month.
Giant cupcake cake sounds like a fun MSE challengeBack on the DFW Wagon:

Sounds like everything is going in the right direction - weight down, debt down and spirits up
long may it continue.
I ventured back too sw this week - ended up costing me £6.50 in a taxi as I still can't drive until next Thursday after surgery before Christmas but it was worth it to get back on track. hubby picked me up after and treated me to carvery too. I was getting in the habit of sitting munching choccies and needed a reminder. I'd put 2 1/2 on since before Christmas - but I will hopefully lose that once I get more mobile and don't sit stuffing my face in front of telly all day. Sooooo close to target though - 3lb to go - I dont want to undo m good work!!
Hope dd hs a great party - has she recovered from her car accident now?January spends - £587.580 -
She is fine thanks Milann. Got her car back yesterday but is away driving to work in snow tonight. My heart is in my mouth. Well done on only 2 1/2lbs on. You will drop that easily when you get mobile again.
Ali I have tasked my brother and DS with sorting out the photo but we will be getting some props and I will definitely add a selfie stick to the list so folks can take their own pics as well. We will put all the pics on flikr so that anyone who wants their pics can help themselves. It's all very exciting now and DD is as high as a kite.
The cars are now struggling to get up the hill outside my house. DD is away to work and will not be driving home until approx. 3am. If she cannot get her car up the hill then DS and I will end up walking to get her as I don't want her walking about alone at that time of night.
I can't get my smilies to work on here now. Must have changed a setting but don't know what. Any advice gratefully received5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Since you're getting the big cupcake mould, why not do a few of those rather than individuals. I've never made a giant cupcake but I will get the cake tin soon and practice it a couple of times. DD wants a cake stand with giant cupcake on top and smaller ones under it. She has see tiny flag picks that she can get Happy 21st DD on so she wants them. I can rattle out the cupcakes no problem. I've made hundreds of them over the last couple of years. I also have loads of decorating cutters etc so we will have fun with all of those. I'll pick up some fondant and have a few practices with various things and see what she wants. I'm quite excited about this wee project.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
