Yes, sad to say I felt that if that's how it affects MiT who seems ultra strong, then it's no wonder I crumbled. I would definitely be much more aware next time - self preservation the order of the day here now

Evening all. What a lovely wee day today. DS's 17th birthday and he's been a lucky lad.
I came home early as their Dad was coming down to see DS and I wanted to make sure house was in a decent state. However he just sat in the car and DS went out to see him :rotfl:what an !!!!!
DS and I then went to visit my wee Aunties and then went for some dinner. We wanted to go to the local Indian buffet but they only do it on Friday and Saturday nights apparently so we ended up in Wetherspoons. Brilliant value food. 2 mains, 1 pudding and 2 soft drinks for £14.30. It was delish.
My bank account should be a bit healthier soon as I have £400 refund from the work on the house to come to me. This is money I have paid out so I am in overdraft due to it. But It'll definitely make my account look much healthier. Still a few things to buy for Christmas but I'll pop in and get the vouchers I need tomorrow on way home and then anything else can wait until next week.

He did PLMBL.
He also had a really good time at his Christmas dance last night. I was so happy watching him go in. He would never have gone to anything in his old school so it just proves I made the right decision when I moved him
I had my appeal meeting today. Initially the woman who was hearing my appeal was quite stand offish and trying very hard to put the bame on me but I stood my ground. I told her I had been up for promotion, I had completed a management diploma, I had worked there for 26 years. How proud I was to work there (ok I lied) how I give everything to my job and how horrified I am to be marked down. I obviously made an impression and she softened visibly but I do not think that she will change the decision. It's all about the numbers. I did however tell her that I ran the section and never needed to involve my manager as I solved all the issues. I also said it wasn't my style to jump about shouting look at me and bring attention to every move I make. Anyway we will see what happens and I'm not even too bothered to be honest. I'm over it now and I will just do my job. That's the sad thing though as that is all I will do 'my job' all the other bits and pieces I normally do without question will no longer be getting done.
Anyway. On to money :rotfl:. I'm overdrawn. Still no cheque for work done on house and still no child support !! I'm hoping it won't be too long now. I'll still be overdrawn but at least it'll not be as bad as it is just now. Had to pay a fiver today for horrible manager Christmas gift. They wanted to put in £10 but I said no way. I can't stand her anyway and I'm skint.
Home alone tonight until I pick DS up from laser tagging later on. DD is at her BF's and I am enjoying the peace and quiet5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Verbatim they practically had to mug me to get it from me :rotfl:. She did buy me a very nice bottle of cava mind you.
I'm watching Martin's money programme on catch up whilst on here. Does that mean I'm a stalker?
Couldn't wait for today to get a long lie and got rudely awakened by next door neighbours getting outside cladding fitted. Drilling the walls and chatting away. DS just about flipped but he now has ear plugs in. I however have got up and started doing the washing. Also tidied up and had my breakfast.
Need to go out later and collect a prescription and a parcel. I have a £15 off for Aldi voucher but will go one night during the week as it will be crazy today and I just don't have the patience.
Other than that I am having a chill out day as I deserve it :rotfl:5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Back again. Well I ended up going to Aldi as it wasn't too bad. Shopping was £99 so with £15 it was £84 . This did include a bottle of vodka but the rest was food. Bought a few wee luxuries for over the holidays and loads of fruit and veg for me
. I also had £5 bonus on my Iceland card so I bought 2 party platters in there for my murder mystery night. I just have chambord to get and I have nothing else to get for that night.
I bought wool to knit. I never knit for myself so I am doing myself a cream longline Aran cardigan. Nice modern pattern so it is really nice. Only £15 for the wool so not too bad and will keep me busy and off this computer.
DS wants Macaroni cheese for dinner so I will sort that out soon as I am rather hungry. Only had 2 boiled eggs all day
So cupboards, fridge and both freezers are groaning. I feel a bit guilty though as too many people will have nothing on Christmas day which is tragic. A wee visit to the foodbank is required methinks5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Good morning. Well the workmen were here at 9am again. Deep joy . So no long lie in MIT household this weekend. Wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't been chatting until 4am to DD when she came in from work . Never mind, washing is on again and I am getting organised for the week.
DS has his first driving lesson today. His stepmother is a driving instructor so she will be teaching him. I feel sorry for her as he will be a nightmare. He gets stressed very easily. DD has been volunteering at an autism group as part of her education course and she has said that she really really thinks DS is on the spectrum. She said to me yesterday 'Mum , get him checked as you can get £70 a week for him ' :rotfl:. Must say I was tempted but if he is then it is marginal and I would rather he wasn't labelled as he manages not too badly all in all.
Today I need to get my invitations sorted out for my murder mystery night. I've been trying to do it all week but all 3 of our printers were out of ink or toner. I got ink for one of them so I can hopefully sort that out when DD gets out of bed. I'm going up to the houses tomorrow night with DS to give them a quick clean as we are the next guests in them. I'll take some of the stuff up that I have bought and free up some space in my freezer.
Very dreary here today which doesn't make me want to venture out the door. But needs must xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
