I am however getting a feeling of dread about going back to work tomorrow. Not just a normal bleugh feeling after a week off but real anxiety.
Hi MiT!
I have exactly the same feeling
The best thing about these diaries is that we can know we are not alone in everything we are feeling.
Work is not just 'work' (bleugh) but serious grief at the moment and I feel that somebody is deliberately making me feel this way for their own kicks.
Let's say it.......onward and upwards
Hope this week goes OK for you.
Brogden x
Brogden there you are.. Oh no, for both of you. Work shouldn't make you feel like that. I've just come out of a carp job, well 6 months ago and it feels like I'm still recovering. look after yourselves, because without that you can't cope with the carp. You need to be fully armed for defence. 6 months after I look back and wonder why I gave a damn about the job - look after yourselves guys, because 6 months on that's the only things that matters.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

SS you are so right. Me and mine are the most important things in my life and that's where my energies will go.
My friends and I are all 50 next year and the year we were 40 a huge group of us went to Dublin for a weekend of fun and debauchery ( was great) and this year 2 of the girls have been diagnosed with cancer. One has bowel cancer and is pretty poorly and th eother has just fouind out this week she has breast cancer so in the grand scheme of things my boss matters not a jot and I am not going to let her get to me any more. The decision is made
I have set DD a challenge and said to her that in January she should keep a spending diary and see just how much she spends on food and junk. I've told her that it'll shock her. We were also talking about people in their 40's etc still living at home and I said to her that I would be disappointed if her and her brother hadn't branched out by the time they were 25. Thankfully she immediately agreed. Now that may sound harsh but I have tried to bring them up as confident, ambitious and money savvy so that would be my hope for them to be on the property ladder by then.
Anyway, now to bed but after my mammoth 10 hours sleep last night I'm not tired so will no doubt be up till daft o'clock. I have a good book though and clean sheets so yay :j5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Think the spending diary is a great idea. DD is a great saver but has just discovered shopping. I'd like her to see how the savings come down relative to the shopping.
. It's not about stopping the shopping altogether is it, but being aware and sensible. (Like I wish I'd been)
. We can pass some of our wisdom on.

SS we can only hope.
Well I survived my day. I was still awake at 4.15am last night  and the more I was telling myself to stop thinking about today the worse I was getting. I was nearly in tears. I must have eventually fallen over but I am absolutely shattered now. My appeal is on Friday and a manager from the other side of the country is coming to hear it so hopefully she has a bit more sense. My union rep will be with me so I will not be alone. I do however have my one to one meeting with manager tomorrow so that'll no doubt keep me awake tonight *rolleyes*
Phoned CSA and there is a payment there for me from ex. They are unable to tell me how much it is though so I'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed folks it's a good one. Looks like ex was on sick or leave or something last month as apparently he didn't earn enough to pay the amount required...............loser !!
Bit of a spendy day again today. Bought birthday cards for December and some after shave and shower gels for DS. Other than £50 each in their cards I am done for the kids. Remind me of that when I buy something else.
I made a kilo of chilli tonight and it is delish. Slimming world recipe and I have ended up with 8 really good sized portions for £7.50. Brilliant. I'm sure I could have stretched it further but I like lots :rotfl:. I now have no tubs left to freeze things so I reckon we probably have enough for the month. Fingers crossed though that I get a good wee weight loss tomorrow night. Told DS that we will go out for food on Wednesday night as it's his birthday and DD is working so it's just the 2 of us. He wants to go to the local Indian buffet which is awesome and unfortunately has never heard of slimming world . I will have 6 days to get it off again.
So I survived. I have 4 more days this week and then 4 next week and then off for 10 days again so I will manage to get through until then. Hope everyone else is good xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hope you slept better last night. You really need to try and relax. Just make sure you do something to totally get your mind off it. I know it's hard, but walking reading something anything to distract you just for a bit. Fresh air helps.
I read in someone's signature (not sure who's) something about acting like you're absolutely not bothered, because it will at least annoy someone. (Sorry that's not right, but I think it's about not giving the satisfaction of seeing your bothered). Go MiT :T

Lots of lovely positive things to post tonight.
I got a great sleep last night. Hit the pillow and was off right away and right through till this morning. It makes such a difference when you get a good sleep.
Today I had my meeting with my manager and suddenly I am the best thing since sliced bread. Apparently I was spoken very highly of during the recruitment exercise with regards to the support I provided and how professional I was. Also my figures have rocketed ( no sh*t Sherlock I did say they would). I said to her 'wow it's like a whole entire different person we are discussing this month' and she is so stupid she didn't notice the dripping sarcasm and said 'yes I am very happy with you' It took me all my time not to laugh in her face. Anyhow I do actually feel a bit better now as at least the ice has been broken.
I lost 2.5lbs tonight at slimming club so that's 15.5 in 5 weeks so :j:j:j I'm thrilled with that. What a difference losing a stone makes.
On the way home from work a tree fell on a car about 10cars in front of me. Thankfully the girl is okay but it's one of Scotland's main roads and I had to u-turn in middle of the road to take another route. Thank God I was there at that time though as I called my friend to let him know this had happened and it took him hours to get home.
I then came home and had HM soup and then HM chilli for dinner. Fabby delish it was too and syn free. My friend came with DS's birthday gifts and we had a blether and I need to head off now and wrap DS's gifts and get his cards written xx

Well done on the weight loss! I stayed the same. Better than a gain though.
Thank goodness the girl in the car was ok! (And I'm glad it wasn't you!!).
