I'm so sorry about your friend, it's frightening how fast MND can take over someone and it's very difficult to watch. I hope you manage to enjoy a good few more nights with her as I'm sure it will mean a lot to her.

Fingers crossed the money appears soon xx
  • Motor Neurones is so cruel. The Dad of someone I know has it and she's been doing lots of fundraising. She's also shared a few videos etc on Facebook and it's so sad. Enjoy your meetings with your friend Xx

  • Hi please, please, please can anybody offere me some advice , as I would be most .

I have lent a friend a considerable amount of money, to which the transfers are tracible. I leant this money with the understanding that the money was to be paid back in fully on the date of ISA's being cashed in and cleared few months later. So this I was to believe to be a short term secured loan.

However when the date has come for the return of the loan, the person is alleging that that an error has occured in the online transfer via internet banking. It has been stated that this error has been made by the borrower. The alleged error was clerical due to a mix up in numbers entered in the sort code only. I my self have in my attempts to help both of us retrieve this missing transaction , discovered in my numberouse phone calls to the bank, ombudsmen , and suspected recipient bank , discovered that this sort code was a non existent sort code ..meaning that it did not belong to any bank and was non valid . I have a letter also from the bank confirming this , and stating that any such transaction would be sent back to the sender within days. The person I lent the money to is still saying that the bank has still got the money and this is why I can not be repaid. The issue has been going on for some 7 months now . During which time the person I lent the money to has failed even tho I have requested evidence to back up what she's alleging has failed to provide me with anything ligitimately original and letter headed by the bank.

I have suggested a meeting at the bank to discuss matters, but have Bern declined on every occation .

Without any evidence I have persude the bank for answers. To the extent that I have now forwarded in all corrispondence to them between me and the berson I loaned the money too, even as far as our txt messages. The only conclution that could be given by them were to identify and highlight to me that what was being stated by the person I lent the money too, was simpley not their. Working practice in relation to matters such as this. I have all of these inaccuracies recorded. The bank did also contact the local police station in order to obtain a crime refrence number off them to allow them investigate the situation, by being able to break data protection ect but the police were unwilling to help, stating that the isssue is a civil matter.

I have seek legal advice from a specialist in civil matter, to be advised that altho I loaned this person the money , that this was under an agreement, and as this person has not keep to this agreement they have therefore used deception as a means to decieve me and steal my money. I have convied this back to the police, but they are still in willing to get involved.

I am really really conserned about all of this to the point to we high it has made me very ill. I'm very alarmed to think that people are able to go around making alligations about a bank like this, and get away with it . It seems really that there is no protection out there regarding things like this. I am deeply conserned with what has been done, and more so to think this person is free to do it all again, as there is nothing out there in to prevent it . I beefs the question has this person done this before as they seemed to know what they were doing, and the limits I face in proving it .

Can anybody offer me any advice as I'm exausted with it all. Of couse I want my money back , but also want to do my upmost to prevent this from happening again to somebody else ..

Thanks in advance as I truley welcome any advice
  • Lottie you would be better asking on the main board. Sounds awful and I think you would probably need to take out a civil case against the person you loaned the money to but I'm not sure. Good luck though xx

Wee day out today with my girl. Going to Glasgow for cocktails, dinner and a show. Tickets already paid for and booked a pre theatre dinner so hopefully not too spendy a day. I'm really looking forward to it.

Was cleaning this morning and checked one of the bedside cabinets and I found a sock. I lifted it to chuck it away and out fell.................................wait for it...................2 vibrators :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I wonder if they will be claimed :rotfl:. I texted owner and asked her was she wanting them and we then had a crazy conversation about putting them on gumtree as hardly used :rotfl:. DS was horrified!! I however found it all very amusing.

Am still paying the money earned today to CC as I swore if I didn't start paying every penny of cleaning money to it then I was stopping doing it as it is extremely hard work and I don't want to work that hard and see no results. I don't believe in working so many hours just so I can get 'extras' and if it ever gets to that stage then I will definitely stop as I would like my weekends back.

So I am away for a shower and heading off to Glasgow for a fabby wee day xx

  • Vibrators:eek: - some couple somewhere have had a barney over their favourite vibrators being left in the rented house!! Quite a cunning disguise to keep them in a sock!!

Well done for paying off the debts with the cleaning money - as you say if the money was being swallowed up on normal budgeting you might as well quit.

Hope you had a great day in Glasgow!!
  • EE we had a fantastic day. Lots of cocktails, fab food, fab company and the comedy act were class. Unfortunately I spent £90  but it was great to show DD the West end of Glasgow as she has never been there before and I think she felt all sophisticated. The west end is just buzzing with life and a fantastic place to go.

Paid another £30 to Tesco so am now under £300 :D. I should definitely clear this be the end of the year.

DS is upstairs working out costs for going to uni. He wants to go to Edinburgh but I am trying to talk him into staying at home and attending Glasgow. We'll see how his sums add up :p

Went on a march today regarding independence. Was very uplifting and good exercise into the bargain. I was horrific yesterday eating and drinking wise so I need to be angelic from now until Tuesday night if I have any chance of losing a pound or two.

  • Hi folks. Missing again but tbh I m lower than a snake's belly just now so probs best I keep my moaning face away from here.

I am super skint. What's new ? Well looks like ex has stopped working again or something as no maintenance this month. I could cry. I keep telling myself not to get used to it but when it starts coming in regularly I can't help it. So I am already well into my overdraft by nearly £700. Had hoped that I could get rid of £400 of that and be down on what I was overdrawn last month but no such luck. My plan until end of month is to just get through and try and not add to my overdraft.

I have £60 to come in over next week but need £40 for DS for school and £5 for slimming club for me. I know I could miss slimming club but I would give up and also DS could take packed lunches but again I would need to go and buy stuff for him so I am actually cheaper giving him lunch money tbh.

Next month I will have my wages, my cleaning money and DD's digs money so I will have to sit and work out a budget for the month and also for Christmas. I'll manage but will need to use every penny I have so my lovely plan to pay off tesco are now up in the air. I just need to keep my head above water and try and make sure I don't add to my debt in any way.

One of my wee aunties died yesterday as well which hasn't helped my mood as I feel quite sad about that as well.

I have my meeting with my boss tomorrow as well with the union etc about my markings. I'm dreading it as I am not feeling very strong jut now an am not sure I have the fight in me for this.

Sorry for being such a moany pain in the ar se but I am not good xx

  • PLMBL that's exactly how I feel. Attacked!! Useless! Worthless. Feel as if I am running 100 mile per hour backwards. Once I have a real plan in my mind I will feel better but am not seeing any lights at the end of this tunnel just now
