No I fully understood what you meant, I just didn't want another pointless internet argument, what is the point of that?

Just login to HL again..........worked fine but now my account isnt showing ANY of my shares/funds!! Just the amount ive got to invest

My wife managed to transfer her unused cash out, so I tried and I was able to do that too. I'm undecided what to do with the actual shares.

Finally managed to execute a deal. Took more attempts than I can remember. Just kept getting to the final screen and no further.

I would have enjoyed waiting to see what happened over the afternoon but I've lost all faith in being able to click the button and execute the deal when I want to.

Instead it's become a just keep trying and take whatever it happens to be when it finally succeeds. Totally unacceptable.

Mother finally sold her 227 shares 20 minutes ago and over 6 hours since first attempt.

    Pathetic, truly pathetic service.

  • I finally managed managed to place a limit order around lunch time, I cancelled, resubmitted, cancelled again.

As far as I can tell, I haven't traded.

Yet when I want to submit another order now, I always get the error "insufficient credit available".

Does anyone know what that means???

It feels like I've traded, but my holding is still showing, no pending orders, nothing in transaction history, of course their phones still busy.

    Useless.

.. what is the US defaulted and shares tanked all round and you needed to get out for some reason (even though you should 'buy at the bottom')? Maybe Hargreaves have done us a favour by showing us they can't cope in a crisis situation..

You could be right there. I've given up on this frustrating nonsense of logging into HL dozens of times and unsuccessful trying to trade, I have instead been researching other platforms to move to that are more reliable. However am alarmed in this search to find HL charge £25 per holding to transfer elsewhere. Charles Stanley charge £10 per holding.

It means their systems that screwed up it thinks you're trying to buy and don't have the funds to do that!

Check your emails, you should have email confirmations of orders/trades/cancellations that their system has actually recognised.

Just managed to log into both mine and the wife's accounts. Both balances up by around £250, no record of transactions and it logs me out when I try to check my portfolio. Looks like they've gone through but the site's still not running right. I know the sales are only provisional but I was still expecting to see some record of what rate they were sold at and perhaps an e mail. Still things are looking up.

That's funny, because there would be sufficient funds available to buy ... clearly their system is completely screwed.
All limit orders that I had out there would have traded by now.
