Just managed to log into both mine and the wife's accounts. Both balances up by around £250, no record of transactions and it logs me out when I try to check my portfolio. Looks like they've gone through but the site's still not running right. I know the sales are only provisional but I was still expecting to see some record of what rate they were sold at and perhaps an e mail. Still things are looking up.

You should get an email confirming the trade and advising that the contract note is available

I have just been through the full range of responses.
Problems logging in, you have no Vantage Accounts, Vantage Account listed but not RM shares, disconnected attempting to deal and finally repeated failed attempts to actually sell failing and having to be requoted.

I finally managed to sell at 437p. I suppose that as HL clients actually become able to sell the availability will go up and the price down. I got the price I was expecting at my first attempt to sell long ago though not the best offered.

    Approx stats from HL
    Opened 450p, High 459p 210,000,000 traded.

    Update: Rats! Now 441p

Total shambles. I've been trying to sell all day, but the website either seizes or I am logged out. The phone line is permanently engaged. Abysmal service.

On the plus side, a lot of people were trying to trade earlier in the day when the price was heading south. It's now back up to 448p and climbing...

Perhaps it's going to work out nicely?

    4.52 and rising.

If only you could have any confidence HL executing a trade when you press the button it would have been a fun ride!
  • Finally sold at £4.56, took a few attempts though:j

Is there anyway at all to switch my ISA and all of my shares etc into another broker? I know I can just sell everything and buy elsewhere, but my ISA in particular I'm worried about... so fed up with HL after today, completely lost faith in them

I'm just about to give in and go to the pub. 445p was my define sell level but the furthest I've got on the HL site is the selling page and then it times out before I get a confirmation.

Edit: Too late. The market has closed.

458 when I looked last. Not rubbing it in, calling share price movements is a mug's game. On another day you might have creamed the top of the market.

I empathise and I will never use them again either. There may well be a cost if involved in transferring. I would say check with them but, as you probably know, they are incommunicado. Like you though, I will be voting with my feet. I hope all the other people they've hacked off today will do the same.
