Christmas Breakfast Ideas

If you're not eating main dinner until late afternoon then you need a filling breakfast which means avoiding the usual carb based breakfast items such as cereal, toast and pastries. You'll be hungry again by lunchtime if you eat those.
Instead, opt for protein and healthy fats so a full English would be fine or one of my favourites is scrambled or poached duck egg with smoked salmon on half a toasted muffin and spinach, grilled asparagus, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and half an avocado on the side. All washed down with a fine Buck's Fizz or Bellini of course“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
we usually have a full english in the morning but this year I have bought a vintage hostess trolley so everyone can just help themselves to whatever they fancy as we will have family either staying over or popping in in the morning. I will also put out some various pastries, fruits and yoghurt etc with juice, tea and coffee.
This sounds very good in principle but I just hope I have the energy on the actual day0 -
Bubbles! Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs always go down well.0

We've got about 7 hungry adults in the house for Christmas so it's going to be a variety in an select yourself kind of way.
There'll be porridge in the slowcooker with cinnamon and nutmeg that people can serve themselves with.
Pain au Chocolate. Much as I like croissants they always end up a mess with butter and jam etc and we're short on space...
I'll be doing a ham on Christmas Eve as someone else suggested - so Eggs Benedict will be an option.
I'll probably do a curry for the meal on Christmas Eve so will make extra rice for either Kedgeree or Nasi Goreng. We'll be having smoked salmon or mackerel as starters and for other occasions so probably the nasi goreng. At least it'll kickstart our tastebuds.
Fresh coffee and Bucks Fizz with cava.
And the advantage of that lot is it all freezes quite well for another day.
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -

Hmm, replace the bacon with the ham. Add some fresh/dried dill... Hmm.

Well I think I know what I'll be making in case my parents are hungry when they pop over in the morning! Thanks
Let us know how the baguettes go :j
The baguette versions went down a storm. They weren't as "breakfasty" as the English muffins (if that makes sense?) but they were delicious and everyone loved the fact that they were hot and crusty.
So now I have a breakfast version and a bonfire version!0
