We have dim sum - we don't have dinner till 5ish so on the 23rd we raid the Chinese supermarket for a variety of bits and then they go into the steamer baskets as we come down and the kettle and coffee machine go on.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Hey guys,
Just found this board :j
We usually do a ham on Christmas Eve - it means there's such a nice smell of cloves etc when you come in.
This normally results in eggs benedict for breakfast Christmas morning.
Highly recommend!0 -
We always have smoked salmon and either poached or scrambled eggs (depends who's cooking!) on a muffin, accompanied by a chilled glass of champagne or Buck's Fizz (depending on if we are driving that day or not!)
My parents and younger sister do the same at their house, except younger sis doesn't like smoked salmon so either has just the scrambled eggs on a muffin or a pain au chocolate. Sometimes both......
We don't usually eat until about 8pm on Christmas Day, if not later, so breakfast usually falls around 11am/12 noon to last us through0 -
We always have Nigella's Christmas Morning Muffins with marmalade and then salmon & cream cheese blinis or bagels. Could not face a Full English knowing how much I've got to eat later! :eek:0

Sausage or bacon sarnies (veggie in my case) with orange juice, cuppa tea and/or bucks fizz (not all together I hasten to add..!)0

We have smoked salmon, cream cheese and scrambled eggs on either muffins or bagels every year. This year I am thinking about doing something different, but I am undecided on what yet.GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."

I bought a Christmas recipe book for 50p yesterday and found this recipe in it. I can't wait to have a go at them. You line either a yorkshire pudding tray or silicone cupcake moulds with bacon to form a cup shape, then fill with egg and cheese and bake. I might just fill with an egg as an alternative to a fried egg. They look yummy. Wish I could upload a pic to show you.0

Since DH and I moved into our own place I've always had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on croissants, with coffee and either orange juice if we're going to family for lunch or mimosas* if family are coming to us. I make DH bacon and eggs if he wants breakfast. I always like to make sure we have 'special' bits and bobs in for Christmas Day so it's always 'posh' juice and last year I had Christmas Tree smoked salmon from Morrisons and DH had the equivalent bacon
*I know this is just Buck's Fizz but 'mimosa' sounds more sophisticated to me and I'm pretentious lol! :rotfl:"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

I keep meaning to make a big monkey bread and fancy hot drinks/chilled fresh fruit juices and stuff but to be honest, I've only ever had a selection box or three on Christmas morning!
What about putting the oven on low with some sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms in a tray and cook until the sausages are almost done. Then crack in an egg for everyone and an english muffin to warm through. Don't cook the eggs for more than 5-7 minutes, depending on how you like them. It means one tray for washing up.
Popovers (basically sweet yorkshire puddings) and fruit butters are also delicious and you can mix the batter up the night before0
